Chance looked around, figuring that she was just saying that to make her forget the question, or at least to give Amelia time to make up a story. But then she realised that he really wasn't anywhere to be seen. "Arco?" she called. When nobody replied, she turned all the wat around and called him again. Nothing...

Chance started looking for Arco, Camella following, and Amelia looked elsewhere in the herd area.

~Several hours later~

Chance was still looking, though she hadn't even caught his scent. Amelia was with her now. Part of her was convinced that he was somewhere, they just hadn't found him yet. The other half knew that he had left. Just like Silicon. She hadn't realised that she was crying until she saw Amelia was. She also hadn't realised that she was on Chevy's territory.
