The night was giving way to dawn. Jericho had been resting by the fire, which by now had gone out. Stirring in his sleep, he soon woke up and took a look around. He lifted his human hand to his face, examining it, realizing he was still in his human form.

The smell of the burning wood was in the air, but it was faint. The Lunar flower let off a scent that was overpowering, and it kept him from sleeping. The sky was lighting up slowly, spreading over the dark with lighter shades of pink and yellow. Lifting himself up, he reached for his knife which was laying beside him and he put it in his pocket. His frozen hands felt better when he reached them inside his warm, wool lined coat pockets. He really hated this form. It was so much harder to adapt to such cold without fur.

Nevertheless, he was on a mission. Caring too little to brush the leaves and snow off his coat, his stood up on his two feet. The air had warmed up, but only slightly. Looking out towards the City, he decided to take a stroll in that direction.

Mean time, his thoughts wandered.

So it was the Lunar Flower that drew them here. The wolves. He smiled, It's been so long. But it's unfortunate that we couldn't meet again under safer conditions.

This last thought caused a quickening in his pace. Upon entering the city again, it was a sight to behold in the light of the approaching day. Ruin upon ruin for as far as the eye can see. How it was that the humans still inhabited it, and in such a large population, was beyond him. It was just another sign of how bad times have been. Jericho pulled the collars of his trench coat up around his face. The City was relatively quiet, save for the rowdy voices of men coming from a somewhere down the block on the corner up ahead.

Men yelled and laughed as they pushed the young girl around. She was about 5"7, and wore black leggings and a black leather jacket that opened to a baby blue tanktop. Her short, choppy brown hair's side bangs kept getting in her brown eyes, lying on top her freckles, or behind her ear depending on the way the men pushed her around. She kept yelling and trying to push her way out of the alley but the rowdy crowd just laughed harder and began to push her around again harder. Her navy blue converse slid on the wet street as she was pushed back into the farthest corner.

"What ya gunna do 'bout it girly?"
"A mere teen, trying to outsmart us big adults? I don't think so?
"Someone grab her before she makes too much of a fuss!"

The men lurched forward and attempted to grab her.

"ENOUGH!"

The men took a few steps back as the girl vanished and a wolf ran by.

"SHES A WOLF! GRAB HER!"

They ran after her, but her huge paws left them far behind after she rounded the corner.

I can smell it! The flower, it's close by...
I just have to reach the center of the city and I can find her and get away before Dereon can harm anyone...

Her paws gave way as a foot crossed by in front of her. She flipped in the air and slid across the concrete , crashing into a metal waste bin. The human looked startled as he lay on his behind 15 feet before her, rubbing his hands to make sure there was no bleeding. Hidatsa rose and shook her fur, neck fur rising as her lips curled into a snarl. She stared into the eyes of her tripper. The eyes where blue, but not just any blue. A wolf's cyan blue.

Jericho had been picking up on his pace, chasing after the voices which had turned violent. There was a tension in the air. Normally, Jericho would never interfere with human affairs, but there was something else that drew him towards them. A small voice, one which any human would miss for the overpowering volume of the mens' voices, had reached his ears. It was full of the same tension that he had sensed in his wolf-dog friend earlier.

Jericho turned a corner, seeing a group of men and a girl, who had quickly shifted and cut the corner down the alley way. Jericho ran in the direction she had headed, turning a corner to get to her quicker. The angry voices of the men, which were menacing before, were even more furious by now. Jericho finally met up with the girl, but in her hurry she tripped over him and landed a distance away. Jericho hit the ground quickly, breaking the fall with his hands.

"What were you thinking?" He questioned her, his blue eyes searching her's. A wolf knows better than to shift in front of a human. Jericho chalked it up to bad nerves on the girl's part. There was no time for questions. The men were catching up behind them. Jericho's expression grew grave.

"Run. Now." He told the girl.

Getting up to his feet quickly, he ran passed the girl and towards the men. They did not think anything of him as he advanced on them until he tackled one of the men. He punched him in the jaw, quickly knocking him out. Four hands quickly grabbed a hold of Jericho, pulling him off the man. The others pulled at him, ripping off his coat in their furious attempts to seize him. Jericho slipped from their grasps and took another swing at one of them. He caught an elbow to his mouth, and a fist to his forehead that managed to cut open his eyebrow.

The odds were against him, but he had his strength to play to his advantage. His power was one that humans do not posses, one that far outmatched their own capabilities. Before long the men backed off, either due to exhaustion or giving into the fact that Jericho was not giving up. Dragging their buddy along with them, they eyeballed Jericho as he turned his back on them and walked away.

"Hey, you'll regret this, buddy!" The drunken men yelled after him, venom in their voices. Their intoxication did not play in their favor, and they retreated.

Jericho kept on his way, returning to the place he left the wolf-dog, hoping to see that she was gone, far away.

Her paws carried her as far as she could go away from the scene, but still within the scent of the flower. She stopped just outside of the city, under an old oak, and looked around her. Once the surroundings were clear, no cars and no humans, she morphed back into a human form.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid! What that heck was I thinking? Turning into a wolf in front of all those men! I broke the wolf law! Now no wolf will ever go near me..."

Hidatsa paced back and forth along the dirt, scolding herself but not screaming; as much as she wanted to scream, she didn't dare. A twig snapped behind her. Hidatsa rushed to the trunk of the oak and made it to higher branch before noticing what was around her. A buck was nibbling at some of the grass at the roots of the oak.

A deer? What deer in any sense of his sane mind would come towards a city infested with humans? Not to mention the few wolves here too. I better get it before another wolf does, I forgot how good fresh kill tasted.

The-wolf dog morphed back into her fur and leaped from the branch on top the buck's back, grabbing the neck and tearing open the life artery. The buck let out his high pitched bleat before falling to the ground, dead. Hidatsa tore open at the stomach, sure to grab the most delicious part: the liver. The scent of the fresh meat caught into the wind, and drifted over to the city were only animals could smell it...

Bria smiled a little as Keaton told her name. "It's nice to meet you," she politely replied. She quickly looked around, not really liking to be in cities. They always made her feel uncomfortable, and she never knew if someone would try and kill her for being a wolf. She had seen it done before. Bria turned back to Keaton, a curious look on her face. "Are there any others like us around here?" she asked. She hadn't seen many other wolves before, but the ones she had met had been in a pack. She needed a home, so she wouldn't mind being in a pack. Maybe Keaton knew of some?

(Sorry, I gotta go. it's past midnight here :c )

Last night Keaton had taken Bria to a safe place to stay for the night. She wasnt to sure about the other female just yet but it was best she kept this other wolf out of harm. Keaton looked up from her sleep, spying the other female across the room still asleep. She smiled a bit before stretching and casting her human illusion for the day. Keaton hated looking human but over time sh ehad grown use to it knowing it was only to be safe and that one day she wouldn't need it.

Troy had taken shelter from the snow that night in a box that was left outsid eon the streets. He was amassibe looking dog and it would be stupid for humans to think he was a dog. He cracked hisneyes open just a little bit, letting the sunlight in. He hadent caught up to that other male wolf yet and it was frustrateing, causing a low growl to come out.

Dereon had not slept the night before. He was to busy searching for Luna, the flower maiden, he once had but lost. He slammed a hand down onto his work desk causing a few things to fall off. He was just about to start over from scratch when a young boy came in. "Lord Dereon, there have been reports of big dogs in the city near by. Iv been told they have just started showing up day by day. I belive its the Maiden sir." Dereon turned and faced the boy. "Go! Get my ship read. We will leave tonight." Dereon ordered. At last he could take back the maiden and begin his search for paradise once again.

Bria slowly woke from her sleep. She didn't remember much from last night, but as she looked around the strange room she was in, her memories came back. She rested her gaze on Keaton and couldn't help but smile, thankful for the kindness the other wolf had shown. She noticed that she was in her wolf form, and Keaton had changed to her human form. So, with a stretch, the female rose to her paws and changed in to her human form. She walked towards Keaton and stood beside her, she wasn't entirely sure about the other wolf, but because she had been nice to her so far, Bria would consider her a friend. "Thank's for bringing me here. It was better than sleeping in the cold." she said quietly.

Keaton nodded her head. "I have spent to many nights out in the cold. I know how it is. Its only fair I help out a fellow wolf..." she replied. Her green eyes quickly caught site of a rabbit outside on the ground. "Hungry?" Keaton smiled a bit to Bria.

Jericho walked around the City a while, taking in the sites, but drawing a little too much unwanted attention because of his bloodied face and gashed brow. The pain was nothing severe, but It was probably best he clean himself up. Walking into a nearby convenience store, Jericho passed through the isles and picked up a few things he would need. Approaching the counter, he placed the items on the counter surface.

"Will that be all, sir?" The cashier asked, without even looking at him.

"Yes, I believe so." Jericho said in his casual friendly tone.

Pulling out a pouch from inside his coat, he pulled at the strings that tied it shut. He shook a few coins out from the pouch into his blood stained hand. The currency he used was old, but acceptable. Any currency was acceptable in this City, no one would turn down money in times like these. Looking at the coins in his hand, his mind was sent back in time.

"Sir, is everything--" the cashier finally looked up, and noticing the damage on Jericho's face she flinched but said nothing.

Jericho snapped out of whatever trance it was that was holding him. He looked up at the Cashier, noticing her unspoken concern that was instead written all over her face. Jericho simply smiled and handed her the money which the Cashier reluctantly accepted. She then handed him his things which she had placed in a plastic bag.

"Thank you ma'am, have a nice day." He said, taking his things from her and turning to walk out.

"You too.." came a small reply.

Jericho pushed the doors open, which ringed like little bells as he exited. The sun hit his eyes, causing them to contract and he squinted. He decided it was probably best to find somewhere to stay, preferably somewhere outside the City, in case those men sought to follow after him. He wouldn't be hard to point out. Jericho cut through a different alley way on his way out, hoping to avoid further detection.

Freya smelled a flower on the outskirts of the town and looked around, curiously. It beckoned her, this unknown smell. It seemed to be calling her towards it and invoked a feeling she'd never felt before. Without thinking, she began to wander towards the smell as she walked down the city streets.
