Rainpaw smiled. "Yay!" She meowed with a bounce. "I don't have to train by myself now. That sounds weird, once you think about it." She finished, tilting her head to think about 'training by herself'.

Liontuft rolled over onto his back in the elders den, stretching and shaking his long fur.


Maplepaw yawned, showing her sharp teeth.



Hollypaw sat in the shadows, only her bright green eyes visible among her black pelt.



Brokenshadow licked a tabby paw, his long black claws outstretched.



Rabbittail let out a sigh, licking her light-brown fur.




Batwhisker narrowed her dark deep blue blind eyes and sighed.

Sandstripe blinked open his eyes, the dark haziness of the world around him slowly focusing into the warrior den. He got to his feet and stretched, yawning hugely, before he padded out of the warrior den, careful not to wake anyone else up. He emerged into the camp, shivering a little in the light rain. Glancing around the camp and not seeing Starlingear, he decided that the dawn patrol must have already left.
Sandstripe couldn't see his apprentice anywhere, either. He sighed, flicking his tail a little bit irritably as he thought of Hollypaw. He understood that it was hard on the her, still being an apprentice and having a mentor who was only about four seasons older than she was. Still, he wished that she would be less apathetic and a bit easier to train - not that she needed all that much training in any case. Sighing softly again, he decided to simply let her sleep for a little while longer. Maybe it would do her some good.
He sat down at the edge of camp and curled his tail around his paws, silently watching the clan he loved.

Cedarpaw awoke in the apprentice's den to the sound of an apprentice's excited mew outside. Yawning, he stood and padded out of the apprentice den to see Rainpaw talking with Leopardpaw and Buzzardtalon. Shivering as the soft rainfall coated his fur, he padded over to them, repressing another yawn. "Do any of you know where Rabbit-tail is?" he inquired, blinking the remains of his sleep out of his eyes. He wondered what his mentor had planned for them to do that day - hopefully battle practice.

Rainpaw shook her head, watching the other apprentice with deep blue eyes. "No, sorry. Maybe still sleeping?" She suggested with a shrug.

[bunearie]

Hollypaw tucked her paws underneath her and blinked slowly as the rain trickled off her pelt. She stood up, emerging from the shadows and glancing up at the sky, narrowing her eyes as rain pelted into her face. She slid out her claws and stepped towards her mentor from behind. "Sandstripe." She meowed, her rag-doll eyes staring up at him, probaley startling the older tom.

Rabbittail stood up and padded out of the warriors den, her paw steps soft and silent. She saw her apprentice and smiled, "Come on Cedarpaw! I thought we might do some battle practice, maybe i could teach you the badger defense today, what about that 'ey?" She mewed, blinking her crystal-blue eyes softly.

"Okay. And yeah, I agree with more cats to help search," Sedgekit said. "Let's go." Her whiskers twitched with excitement to search for the lost moss-ball.

Birchkit nodded his head and followed her to the medicine cat den. Please don't let Skyberry come in and find us here. he prayed silently to himself. The last thing he needed was to get in trouble again, but at the same time, he couldn't help but feel the thrill of doing something against the rules.

Sapkit's ears perked. "Great!" she said, following the rest of the group. She remembered the first time that Birchkit had gone to find the moss ball, and it had ended without success. This time, they'd all have to be smarter, she thought/

W I L L O W C L A W

Echoes of some dream already forgotten reverberated in Willowclaw's ears as she woke to a camp that was already bustling around. "Foxdung!" she hissed to herself, jumping out of her nest. How did I sleep through the wake up call? she wondered. Hastily, she gave herself haphazard grooming and emerged into the camp. She looked around for any signs of a patrol, but it seemed that they'd already left. A growl formed in the back of her throat. Now what was she to do?

Sandstripe started and swung around to face his apprentice. "Hollypaw!" he mewed in surprise. "I didn't see you there." He stood. "What would you prefer to do today - hunting or battle training?" He wouldn't usually give an apprentice the choice, but he wasn't yet sure at what skill level Hollypaw was with either her hunting or her fighting, and he didn't care which one they started with.

Cedarpaw grinned up at his mentor. "That would be great!" he mewed enthusiastically, jumping back to his feet. He turned back to Rainpaw. "Thanks," he mewed before bouncing back to Rabbittail. "Are we going now?" he asked, excitement blazing in his golden eyes.
