Rainpaw's fur bristled at Lionpaw's taunt. She hissed in mock aggression. "You'll be a LOT easier to beat that Thornstar, Lionpaw!", she meowed playfully.

Thornstar shook his head and twitched his whiskers. He thought the whole thing was extra amusing, because he remembered a time when he got into a bickering like this one. "Why don't we have a competition. Go find Jadepaw, she can join in. We'll see who is the best at stealth."

"Okay!", said Rainpaw eagerly. She always loved a good competition. The apprentice batted at Lionpaw's ear before jumping down from the rock and bolting across the camp to find Jadepaw.

Jadepaw noticed Rainpaw looking around camp. "Hey Rainpaw!" she purred and padded over to her. "Need something?" she asked.

Ambershard watched the apprentices, and purred, remembering her apprentice days. She sighed, remembering her first battle, which was when her mentor was killed. Forget it, you've had enough grief over him. She thought, and sighed, wishing she hadn't had a crush on her former mentor. Thanks for the memories, Stormbreeze.

Rainpaw turned in surprise. "There you are!", she purred. "Thornstar wants you! You, me, and Lionpaw are going to compete with each other to be the best at stealth!" Rainpaw began to fake-stalk around Jadepaw, "I've been practicing!"

Jadepaw purred. "So have I!" she mewed. She pounced on Rainpaw's tail as she circled her. "See!" she purred triumpantly, her eyes gleaming teasingly.

"Hey!", said Rainpaw happily, twirling. She pulled her tail back and flicked her ears, "Nice job. But you still won't beat me during the competition!" She assumed a playful stance, and then leaped at Jadepaw.
