((Where'd you leave off? So far we've got the Clan meeting in action and Jayclaw is in the medicine cat den being treated for chill. Wildpaw is chillin'))

Rainpaw watched the Clan, surprised at the strength Lightstride was exhibiting. Her own heart felt painful - each beat brough forth waves of pain as she thought about Echoheart leaving the Clan. Nobody knew... not yet. Was she going to have to stand before the other cats and answer questions in a similar matter? She hoped not. It almost made her feel guilty, but perhaps Lightstrides recent horrors would help to conceal Rainpaw's own situation. She didn't want the whole Clan talking about Echoheart leaving - she knew some of them would have unkind things to say.
A question then pricked at Rainpaw's mind. She looked up at Lightstride, feeling sorry for the queen's misfortune. Rainpaw felt like she had to break through the silence, and she asked the first question that came to mind, "What will you do with the kits?" Immediately she regretted asking about such a personal thing aloud... but there was no way to take back the words.

Ambershard's eyes widened when she heard Rainpaw. She glanced at Hailcrow, wondering what he was thinking. Sighing, she turned her gaze back on Lightstride expectantly, wondering how she'd reply.

"I am keeping them," Lightstride said, knowing that the clan was going to be shocked. "Before you ask how can I keep a monster's kits, I have a question for all of you. Abandoning kits to the harsh world, isn't that an act of monstrosity itself? If I abandon the kits, what makes me better than Steel?" Lightstride stepped down from the leader's rock.

Thornstar nodded. Excellent words. "Now, some of our apprentices have proven themselves able warriors. Rainpaw, please step forward. You have proven yourself an excellent warrior.I Thornstar, leader of Whisperclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in his/her turn. Rainpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and defend this clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Echoheart smiled as Rainpaw was called up to receive her warrior name. Good for her.

Rainpaw stepped forward, her heart pounding so hard in her chest, she felt like it might burst. Sudden excitement tingled in her paws - she was finally going to be a Warrior! Rainpaw caught a faint scent on the breeze. Echoheart. She hoped he was watching, even if it was from afar. She gazed, wide-eyed, up at Thornstar. "I do."

Hailcrow was surprised at Rainpaw's question, but he didn't blame her. He was glad that Lightsride would keep the kits - it wasn't the little one's fault that their father was a beast. The tom glanced around the clearing, realizing for the first time that several of the other were missing, including Echoheart. Odd, he thought. But Hailcrow smiled as the apprentice came forward to receive her name. He wondered if someday he'd watch an Apprentice become a Warrior that was his own kin.

Fierceheart purred as Rainpaw approached, proud of the she-cat. Rainpaw had grown a lot in the past moons - especially since Echoheart had appeared.

" Then by the powers of Starclan I give you your warrior name. Rainpaw, from now on, you will be known as Rainwhisper ((?)). Whisperclan welcomes you as a full warrior." Thornstar said with a smile.

Lightstride chanted Rainpaw's new warrior name happily.

Jayclaw woke up in time to here someone was getting a warrior name. Rainpaw... What have a done? I'm not a good friend, not mate worthy of you... he thought as he dragged himself to his paws, suddenly feeling like he wieghed 8 times his real wieght and that his paws where going to collapse under his weight. His throat ached and his nose was running unstoppably. I deserve all this! he knew he did when a loud cough wrenched through his body hurtfully. He could see the entrance infront of him and yanked his body foreward, slumping from the den in time to hear Rainpaw's new name, Rainwhisker. "I love you Rainwhisker, but I'm not worthy of you love, that I know." He whispered to himself, his eyes staring wishfully at the beautiful young she-cat before they lowered down and narrowed. "Thats Why I need to find Echoheart, and bring him back," he whispered to himself, determination filling his heart and giving him strength. Turning he slumped weakly out of the entrance behind everyones backs and picked up the other warriors scent. "Echoheart. I know your still here, To watch Rainpaw," he rasped as the scent got much stronger, But Jayclaw was growing weaker at the same time, his legs wobbly with exhaustion.

Echoheart lifted his head as he heard a cat approach. He let his jaw drop to take in the scent. He sighed when he smelled Jayclaw. What does he want now? I'm leaving him a chance with Rainpaw, or whatever Thornstar named her. I never got a chance to tell him off, and he doesn't have to deal with me 'Thornstar's pet' any longer. If he wants to claw my face off, I'll beat him to it. Echoheart's pulse sped up, and his breath was making thick clouds in front of his nose and mouth. He narrowed his eyes, and prepared himself for whatever the warrior was going to bring up.

Jayclaw fluffed himself up, but he was a pitiful sight, shivering, weak and his nose was running. He gave a long row of crackling coughs before finally meeting his rival's eye. "I want-" he stopped himself, looked at his paws and bared his fangs. This is the cat that took her from me. The cat that doesn't believe in Starclan! Why should I bring him back? Because Rainwhisker loves him-Him the-the one who stole her. No! Your being selfish. This isn't about you, Its about Rainwhisker. He needs to come back. "I need you to come back for Rainwhisker's sake, You love her and she loves you," Jayclaw muttered frowing at his paws.

Echoheart was surprised at what Jayclaw said. He was expecting some vicious statements. Instead, he got a desperate plea. "Jayclaw, I will come back. Soon. I think we need some time apart to settle down. Go back to camp, and tell Rainpaw that I will be back in a few days. When I return, I think we should talk as well."
