Personality: When it comes to StarClan, Hailpool is very attentive, but also secretive. If he receives a prophecy, he will often try to figure it out himself before going to his clan leader. He has an amazing memory, able to treat almost any illness. However, he does have his flaws. If he is especially busy, with a lot of patients, or it is very hectic in camp, he can get very overwhelmed, causing him a lot of stress, so he will lash out at other cats.
History: Hailpool was an only kit, and his father took much pride in believing his son would be the best warrior the clan had ever seen. But as his father would ramble on all day about the importance of warriors, and how to be a great one, Hailkit was always looking over to the medicine den, where all he wanted to do was learn about herbs. To get away from his father one day, and into the medicine den, he stepped on a thorn on purpose, and spent the rest of the day in the medicine den, where he spoke fondly of his love of healing. The medicine cat knew that Hailkit was meant to be his apprentice, and as his apprentice ceremony came up, the medicine cat spoke to the leader, who announced it as a surprise at the ceremony. Hailpaw's father was furious, and since then, has rarely spoken to him. While struggling with the rejection from his father, Hailpaw was also learning about things he loved, and soon was consumed with his new life as a medicine cat apprentice. On one night, an attack on the camp shook Hailpaw to his core; so many cats were coming in, so many injured, and he was very stressed. When it was too much to handle, he snapped at one of the injured cats, yelling at her to calm down, as she was overreacting to her wounds. He immediately felt bad afterword, but was too uncomfortable to apologize. His mentor sent him to take a quick break, and as he came back afterwards, he saw his father dead in a pile of ferns. Crying out, Hailpaw blamed himself, knowing that if he had been there to help, his father would still be alive. Weighed down by guilt, even getting his full name, Hailpool, didn't help him through his struggle. But on that night, his father visited him in StarClan, and the two rekindled their close relationship they had once had, his father telling him how sorry he was, that he realized now what he had missed out on when he was alive. And Hailpool knew, that although his father was gone, his father still loved him, not matter what path he chose.
