Silverstar ran back to Camp, fearing the Prophecy and what it might mean. She skidded to a halt in front of Echopaw and Clawpaw and her eyes widened further, as if seeing them for the first time. Her ears flipped back in fear and she hissed. Then she ran off to her den.
Starclan help me! She thought, her paws pounding on the earth as she was running to escape her knowledge. She skidded to a halt near her den. I might as well go hunting. She thought, as she knew she wouldn't be able to sleep now. She walked slowly and cautiously back across Camp, avoiding the area where Clawpaw and Echopaw were deliberatly.
As Silverstar padded out of Camp, she tried to focus her mind on hunting, but it was impossible. She climbed up the oak tree near her and sat on the tallest branch that would hold her weight, near the top. "Starclan, what does it mean!?" She yowled into the dark black sky. She half fell, half scrambled down the tree.
Silverstar padded onward, head down, tail low, pondering the prophecy. She stopped suddenly. She was now aware she was near the twolegplace. She turned the other way, towards the deepest part of the forest.
Silverstar crouched down, seeing a magpie up ahead. Her whiskers and nose twitched as she tried to pinpoint where it was going, and when she should pounce. Her nose picked up the strong scent of fox nearby as well as the magpie. She quickly stalked the magpie. When she realized it had sensed her and knew something was up, she pounced and cracked it's neck. She sent quick thanks to Starclan for the easy prey.
Silverstar padded back to the area she had scented the fox after burying the magpie. It was nearby, and the scent was fresh. It was here a few minutes ago. She followed the scent trail. She hid in a bush when she saw it's fiery red coat up ahead. she flattened her ears and kept her tail low. She crept forward, careful to keep out of sight, and to make sure her scent didn't drift to it. The fox looked at her the instant she moved, as if it had known she was there the whole time. Silverstar froze, eyes wide in fear. But the fox showed no sign of attacking. It simply sat down. Silverstar scented it was a Vixen, a female. She suddenly got the odd feeling the Vixen would be able to understand her, but she shook of the thought. Don't be mouse-brained! She told herself.
