Feathertail headed out of the camp into the mountainous forest, the place she loved most. The fresh air smelled nice, and she felt as if she could run forever. The she-cat always secretly hoped to see deer when out of the camp because they fascinated her. Although they could trample you in an instant, they usually just ran away from you or stared at you for a while. Every now and then she would look back to make sure Wolfpaw was still following since he was being quiet. She was usually quiet herself, but today she felt excited and happy, but she didn't know why. She stopped at the edge of the trees, a small area with tall grass standing before them. The forest continued just on the other side, though. "There's bound to be prey in there," she motioned to the tall grass lightly which was gently swaying in the breeze. "It might be hard though because your going through the grass. Would you like to give it a shot?" She knew that her apprentice knew how to hunt pretty well, but she still needed to make sure he was doing okay with it.

He noticed Tigerstar walking around, but he didn't worry since she had been resting long enough. The black and white tom flicked his tail slowly back and forth for a long time, before finally deciding to go and get something to eat. He hadn't seen Stonejaw or Cinderpaw in a while, so he guessed they probably weren't missing him. His steps were quiet as he he made his way to the fresh-kill pile, which looked plentiful. He picked out a decent looking squirrel and headed to a sunny spot near the edge of the camp. The apprentice gently laid down and began munching on the squirrel, which was juicier than it looked. He usually spent his days alone, only communicating with others when he had to. Although it sounded lonely, he had gotten quite used to it over time, but sometimes the loneliness got to him, making him seem depressed. Sometimes it felt like he was all alone, even when the medicine den was full of cats. He shook his head, wanting to clear the depressing thoughts from his head and focus on quieting his stomach.
