Kallik gasped and ran over to her. "Maxine??"

Maxine turned around. "Kallik! Long time no bark!"

"Um..Yeah." Kallik barked quietly.

Tessa stiffened.

Caine stayed where he was, watching them.

"Who is she?" he whispered to Bella.

"I have no idea," Bella whispered back.

Maxine started. "Let me explain..."

Kallik tried to stop her. "Maybe you shouldn't...."

"No no, I insist!" Maxine barked. "Well, me Kallik and Blaze have known each other since we were pups. It was so funny, Kallik always told me how much Blaze liked me.

Kallik bit her lip.

Blaze fumed at Kallik silently.

"But we somehow split up as friends and I haven't seen you guys since..." Maxine finished.

Blaze gulped.

Taryn walked out of her box, who had been listening the whole time. She nuzzled Tessa. "Tess...." She whispered.
