With an umph, Shadowpaw fell off of ravenpaw. She lay limply on the ground.

Stormface picked up his mouse. "good catch." He mewed. He spotted a sparrow not far off, and crept up on it. It sensed him and started to fly away. Growling, he leaped into the air, hooking its wing in his sharp claws and dragging it to the ground, killing it.

For a split second, Ravenpaw's medicine cat instinct kicked in, but not before being corrected: "Lesson one: Never put down your guard." He put his paws on her chest, pinning her down and trying to check her health at the same time.

She watched Stormface, putting down her catch. "Can you teach me how to hunt birds?" She mewed, sitting down.

Stormface shrugged. "Sure. First, you crouch, like normal, except all your wait has to be on your hind paws. Slowly, creep forward. The bird will sense your paw-steps, and start to fly. That's why you have the power in you hind legs. Push up with all your force, and snag its wing in your claws." He meowed

Sparrowpaw crouched, shifting her weight onto her hind legs. She crept forward for a few steps, then leaped into the air, reaching out with her front paws. She landed near Stormface. "Like that?" She mewed.

Stormface purred. "Yes, now look for a bird to try on." He looked around.

Shadowpaw leaped upwards, barreling Ravenpaw back. She jumped onto him. "NEVER put down your guard." She smiled.

Ravenpaw smiled, already knowing his mistake before Shadowpaw mentioned it. He used his back paws to push up from under her, but gently enough to not hurt her.

Shadowpaw smiled, and scratched his exposed belly gently enough not to hurt, but fast.
