Squishy;
Squishy, confused about what was going on as everybody rushed about, planted her paws
firmly in the sand, turned around, and dashed into the nearby area of thick palm trees and other tropical
trees. She was more confused than she had ever been. Where were they? Were there other KSKs nearby?
Yes! Maybe there is a village, or something! She thought, and with that idea, she plunged
deeper into the trees, hoping with all her heart she would find someone who could tell her where they were.
She found no one. And within seven minutes, she was hot, tired, and lost.
"Great," she sighed heavily, trying not to cry from fear of being alone. If she cried she would just
dehydrate herself, she knew that much. She flopped down under a tree, trying to stay out of
the sun. With her shorter fur, she was more likely to get a sunburn, and she didn't want that.
Suddenly, she felt something crawling on her tail orb. She turned around to see a tarantula! She
shrieked, terrified and hit her tail against a tree in a pure reflex action. The tarantula fell to the ground, one leg broken off.
"Oh, no, I didn't mean to hurt you," Squishy said sadly. "Hey! Stay right there, Mr. Spider, maybe I can
use my star essence to heal you." Squishy closed her eyes and concentrated, her tail quivering in
an effort to heal the spider. Suddenly, a new leg popped out of the hole where the tarantula's old leg had
been. The tarantula motored its legs and scurried off, kicking up tiny bits of sand.
"Yay!" Squishy cried, delighted. It was the first time she had successfully used her essence. But it had
made her tired. She curled up under a tree and was
asleep within
seconds
