"Ah!" Pelleren cried out. She would have gone yeep had she not been perched. "I... Um... I'm sorry, Stormy. I was just... The black owl... Who is that? Oh, I should be going, but that peculiar owl caught my attention. Who... Is he or she?" She shifted uncomfortably, clearly flustered, then flew down to the hollow. "I'm terribly sorry, but I'm just curious."

(Stormy is new, no owl has seen her before.)

"It's a she, and she's a barn owl. But I've never seen a black barn owl before." Stormy said. "Where are you off to?" She asked Pelleren, as she hadn't explored the Tree yet.

Phoenix listened in on their conversation. She understood it wasn't the right thing to do, but she wasn't offended they called her strange. She was used to it. She even got kicked out of the nest for it.

"I'm going to falkbto her," said Stormy determinedly. She walked into the hollow, and began. "Hi. I'm Stormy."

"Oh, you don't know her?" Pelleren stopped to think for a moment. "Wait, I don't know you either! Who, may I ask, are you both? Welcome to the tree, by the way!" She said, trying not to stare at the black-feathered owl, a twinge of jealousy of the owl's uniqueness rising in her gizzard.

Stormy turned fully around, and dipped her head to Pelleren. "I'm Stormy." She said. "And you are..?"

Other: Hatched under an eclipse, Shard is larger than other owls his age and he's not sure if he'll grow anymore. At this rate, he's about the same size as a full grown Great Gray and he's not even a full grown adult yet. This of course causes a few problems as it makes him a bit clumsy. He means well though!

"Greetings, Stormy! I am Pelleren, the tracking ryb of the Great Tree." Pelleren replied. "Oh, right, you wouldn't know what a ryb is, seeing as this is your first time here. Well, here at the Great Ga'Hoole Tree, we have these groups of owls called chaws. There are eight chaws in total. They are search and rescue, tracking, weather interpretation, navigation, healing, blacksmithing, colliering, and Ga'Hoolology. Every owl is assigned to a chaw, and during chaw practice, they learn about and perform what their chaw's name suggests. In each chaw, there are one or two rybs, which are basically just teachers with a fancy name. I am the ryb of the tracking chaw. Because I'm a ryb, you technically could refer to me as Pellerenryb, but I prefer Pelleren, as it's much easier to say and sounds more natural. I was actually on my way to teach chaw practice right now, but this black Owl caught my attention." she turned to the black Barn Owl. "And who might you be, miss?"

Stormy blinked. she would like to see the cha Pelleren was talking of. "Can I come with you, Pelleren? Stormy asked.

"I suppose I could take you, as long as you allow me to escort you to meet the queen of the tree, Queen Dawn, right after practice is over." Pelleren said. "Is that alright with you? Oh, and I also have to return this book-" she motioned with her wing to the book that was beneath her talons,"before practice begins."
