The Great Tree of Ga'hoole

[Trika]

"They used to have us dive off the cliffs into storms and since I'm a hawk I naturally dived lower and found out this trick." Red Heart replies as she suddenly flies a little higher to avoid a wave. What she didn't say was that if you failed the test the other birds would leave you to die and some would dive bomb her to see if she would crash into the waves. They did it for fun.

"Oh, that sounds dangerous" Dawn said with a chuckle then seeing Red Heart's dull sad expression "oh I'm sorry, it was really dangerous, and you were forced to dive off the cliff, but you didn't want to do it. " She said with great consern and empathy "I wouldn't want to do it either"

[Trika]

"It could be fun but we didn't have a choice in the matter..." Red Heart's voice trails off as she looks at the huge wave rolling towards them. Ramming her shoulder into Dawn from below she catapults the owl into the air. "Fly!" She yells to Dawn right before the wave crashes over her. Then there's only blackness.

Knight gathers more leaves and shoves them over top the eggs for extra heat. Flying down to the beach he hurries to get some dried seaweed before it rains. Knight arrives just in time to see a snowy owl get chucked above a wave by a hawk that seems to be drowning. Without hesitation Knight flies right up to the unsteady snowy. "How can I help your friend?"

"Read Heart!!!!!!!" Dawn yelled, frantically searching the surface of the water. Ok just stay calm, she thought to herself. Then she heard another's owl from behind her. "She... She's drowning!!!" Dawn said "I can swim, can you? We could both go under and bring her up." She said, then she stuck he head under the water to see Red Heart trying to swim but the current kept pulling her down. "We have to go save her!" She turned to the black owl. Her eyes stinging and her usual heart shaped face typical of a barn owl was soaked. "Can you swim??"

[Trika]

Without wasting time to answer Knight flies up a little higher so he can dive bomb down into the water. He shivers slightly as he touches the cold choppy water. Gently but firmly Knight wraps his talons around the Hawk's ribs. With two sets of wings instead of one they finally manage to fly up out of the water. Flying over to the rocky beach he gently lays Red Heart on the sand. As the sun makes her feathers shine ruby Knight gasps. Years ago a red hawk like this who for some odd reason was nocturnal had passed through here on her way to join eagle tribe. The stories she had told of the eagles bravery and prowess had amazed him. Looking at her now he wondered if all those stories were true.

Gasping on the beach Red heart looks around. "We made it!" she exclaims to Dawn. Then she realizes fully what happened. "Sorry Dawn. You can explain why we're here if you want." Shaking herself like a dog Red Heart starts preening herself.

"Red Heart!!!! You almost drowned!!!!!!!" Dawn said giving her a giant hug "You saved my life!!!!!" Then turning to the black owl she said "And thank you as well, I couldn't have pulled her out without your help. Thank you." She looked into the owl's large eyes. "I am Dawn." She said blushing "And you are?" She asked, Dawn actually had to turn away because she felt her whole face explode with red. Once she felt like she had stopped blushing she turned back to the owl and said, "We came to bring more owls to our cause, I am the Leader of the Ga'hoole Tree, this is Red Heart." She said turning to the hawk

[Trika]

"I'm knight. And what tree?" Knight asks. Turning slightly Knight heads over to a small cave out of the rain and beckons for Dawn and Red Heart to follow.

Red Heart watches Dawn blush with amusement. Moving forward to follow Knight she bumps Dawn and winks. "Dawn's better at explaining I'm still new."

"The Ga'hoole tree, it's north of here" blushing even more when Red Heart winked at her. Thankfully Knight was in front of them "It's home to the Guardians, we protect the peace. Where do you live?" Following knight up to the cave

[Trika]

"I live in here." Knight replies. "Welcome to castaway cliff. Sometimes birds will drop unwanted eggs here- hence the name castaway cliff. You're welcome to stay if you want. Lots of birds pass through here." Knight was surprised that the obvious reference to Red Heart's journey sparked no recognition in her eye.

Red Heart listened to Knight's speech with a small sense of déjà vu. "We were wondering if by any chance you would like to join our tree. That would also give your eggs the opportunity to be raised in a whole community of birds instead of alone." Taking a talon Red Heart starts to sketch the tree in the sand.

"Yeah it's a small community but its like a family." Dawn said, "So birds just drop their eggs here? Like oh I don't like you tiny unborn child so I'm just going to put you on this abandoned cave and leave you?? That's terrible!! How do they call themselves owls?!?!?!?! That is… it's… UUURRRRGGGGG!!" Dawn yelled then taking a moment to calm herself down. "I'm sorry but that is against the whole Guardian code, To promote peace, mend the broken, strengthen the weak, and bring justice to the evil." Dawn replied. Then she looked at Red Heart's drawing of the tree, and smiled. "That's the tree" she said with a sense of pride
