Sorry guys, this isn't going to be one of those super pretty looking role plays with all the pictures and whatnot. I am not good at that. I hope you will still read through and join in. This should be pretty fun =)

It was easy for the wolves of magic to hide away from the human eye. They had been doing it for years, and many were still getting away with it. It was only when a small group were found and caught that humans learned that there were wolves out there with magic at all. They kept the wolves for years, running tests on them and trying to figure out what kind of science could duplicate their magic. The wolves remained caged in a facility deep in the wooded mountain side, eagerly searching for the answer. Three generations of the strange wolves later, and they were still no closer to figuring out how to harness their magic. But they needed it. How the humans desperately needed to discover the key and be able to use it for themselves. The study failed, and they learned nothing.

And all the while their small city in the valley was haunted by dreams of the shadow wolves. A legendary creature that had plagued their nights for hundreds of years, the shadow wolves were such creatures that brought nightmares to all who lived in the city, leaving them unable to sleep and deeply afraid of the dark. It was only in the recent decade that what everyone thought was just a bad dream was an actual creature. The dark wolves had begun to break through the seal between our world and their own, and came out almost every night, only to drag a human back through with them before morning. They worked like an invasion on the mind, first seeking the humans out through their dreams, and then breaking the barrier and bringing them back across. Any who saw the wolves in their sleep knew their time was up. They may not have been chased down that night, but it was only a matter of time before they were taken. None that went through the tear ever came out. The magical wolves had known of their existence long before humans ever came and settled on this land, being the things the shadow wolves preyed on the most. Because of their magic, they stood a fighting chance, the same fighting chance the humans had wanted when they gathered them off the mountain for the study.

They released them back onto the mountain, leaving the magical wolves to the task of having to learn to live in the wild after their whole lives were spent sleeping on cement floors. Back in the wild with no fighting skill or learning, and once again the victims of the Shadow wolves, how would they survive?

Rules




General


1. Do not powerplay or godmode. Seriously, should be obvious by now
2. Do not go off and start killing everyone.
3. No arguing out of ooc.
4. Use some form of ooc.
5. No chatspeak.
6. This isn’t really a pg-13 kind of thread, but I don’t want to see anything you’d feel queasy about showing to your siblings or something. Use time skips and whatnot.
7. If you are going to be away for a while, please tell us.
8. Don’t worry if I’m not on. You guys can totally roleplay while I’m sleeping =P
9. No ‘perfect’ characters.


Forms


1. Height of normal wolves cannot exceed 36 inches. Height of Shadow wolves cannot exceed 40
2. 150 pounds is quite heavy for most wolves
3. Shadow wolves are ALWAYS mostly black with shadowy tendrils coming off of them.
4. They also ALWAYS have silvery eyes, though can be tinted a color
5. Magical wolves can only have one power.
6. Shadow wolves all have the power to read and control any mind that they break into.
7. As well as some bodily power, like control of exposed bones or something psychological.

1. The Alpha male has the last word. Speak out of rank to any of your betters and you had better hope that you are powerful enough to back it up.
2. If you are going to have a high position then you MUST have a very powerful magic! You don’t have to have a high rank to have very powerful magic, but it is much more likely.
3. You can only have ONE power. Sorry people. (this does not include flying if you have wings)
4. The alpha female is not always going to be the alpha male's mate. More like the one he thinks most able to help him lead the pack. In fact, the alpha male doesn't even have to choose an alpha fem, even if he does have a mate.

Name: Nightingale
Nickname: Night or Gale
Personality: Gale is the sort to put on a brave face. In fact, she puts on absolutely no face at all, hiding away her every emotion so that none can tell the thoughts in her mind. She finds it is the best defense against getting hurt or when mind readers or even the shadow wolves try to infiltrate her thoughts. Forever she is wearing a mask of complete calm reserve, while inside a battle rages on. When she is alone she often goes into melt downs, panicking and crying out. She is a sweet girl, and is a very hard and determined worker when given the chance.
History: Gale doesn't really know who her parents were, only that she was born in a laboratory with many other magical wolves. She was caged with another wolf for as long as she can remember, one rather creepy wolf named Void. He began to teach her, test her in every way possible. He treated her just like the humans there: a lab rat. It was always a test of intelligence for him, or one of strength and fighting technique. They all had to be set free after an animal movement forced the lab to shut down, but she still hasn't been able to escape Void who continues to follow her.

Magic Power: She has the power of shifting. She disappears from one area and will reappear in another in less than a second. None know yet, but she is able to do this because she is traveling into the shadowland, where time runs differently. She does not even know this herself. She will also be able to take wolves with her into the shadowland, but at a cost.

Speed: High. Very high. As a coyote she can run faster than any wolf ever could. They are the fastest predators on the continent, magic or not.
Endurance: Medium
Intelligence: High

Strengths: Something many consider her strength, and the reason she was named as she was, is her voice. It is usually very soft and gentle, able to put any stubborn pup to sleep or convince any male to do as she wishes. Not that she has ever used it for the latter. It can also be very powerful and authoritative, though she rarely uses it for that either.
Weaknesses: Well, she is weak of mind and body. Not stupid, just always afraid. Always always afraid.

Nickname: Void
Personality: Void is a power hungry fool. Really he is. He is very high on himself and his abilities and wants to rule the world pretty much. He is nice to everyone, but always plotting against them. It is sort of a bitter sweetness, always wanting something in return. He is a real lady's man, a player of sorts. But he has no actual respect for women. They are just pawns in his life. All the world a chess board with wolves and humans to play his little mind games with. Really, he isn't the type of wolf you want to be around alone.
History: Void was born in the lab much like all the other wolves were. But he, unlike many others, did not have a problem with the humans. In fact they liked him very much. He had no problems preforming for them because he liked to show off what he could do. They often used him to keep themselves safe around the other wolves. He liked control and tried out different motims of control on Nightingale. She became his pet project, his favorite pawn. So, though he probably treated her worse than anyone else, he was always keeping her safe. She became a permanent companion to him, someone to talk to like a little sister. Somewhat, anyway.

Name: Plague
Nickname: Your Highness
Personality: Most of the time he is pretty layed back, walking behind the other Shadow wolves even when they are off attacking people. He doesn't really get involved in anything usually. That is, until he sees something he wants. Plague is really cocky. He has a reason to be so, considering all that he can do. He'll flirt around with just about anyone, even males if he thinks it'll humor him. He is also somewhat possessive. He may have his way with many females, but he also claims them in a way. Those he picks cannot be taken by anyone else. He doesn't ever really get angry, usually finding the fun in any situation.
History: Well, he was born into something of a lowly shadow wolf family. His parents weren't exactly popular among the masses due to their speaking out against the terrorizing of the humans. He and his family were bullied and tortured for years until he grew tired of it and fought back. It was during the battle between him and another member that he some how ripped both him and is opponent from the shadow realm and into the natural one. It is still unclear on how he obtained the gift, but it, along with his magic of disease quickly helped him climb the ranks. Unlike his parents, though, Plague had no intentions of stopping the attack on the human's minds and decided to take it a step further.

Appearance: Plague has medium fur that gradually grows thicker around the elbows, neck and tail where long feather light hair like things grow. They sort of float there, never really settling. His fur is completely black and he has silver eyes. When he is using his more powerful magic strange markings show up on his fur that glow the same silver as his eyes do. Oh, and he is dead sexy, in a dangerous sort of way. Don't forget that. Really, if you didn't know who he was you'd be falling all over him.

Magic Power: Besides the usual Shadow wolf magic, He has the power of disease. As is common with most that were chosen to lead, he can also 'shift' and open the gateway to infiltrate dreams. This power is not inherited, but is very rare.
