Crestpaw could feel tears forming. She couldn't find Frostedtoes only kit. What if I was her? I wouldn't be able to live with myself.. she thought, find a frozen log. The cat curled up in it, trying to keep herself warm. She wished Hawkpaw was with her..

Crestpaw started crying, she was imagining Hawkpaw looking for her. She just knew that the yowl she heard wasn't real. In her curled up ball, the she-cat felt herself losing body heat. Every second Crestpaw felt colder. She moved her stiff body, crawling to look out the log, in a desperate hope to see someone.
