Hawaii approached the podium, wrinkled papers in paws(?), smiling as she did so.
"Welcome, students and teachers alike." she spoke carefully in the microphone,
rearranging her papers. "Here, as you might know, is the place where jewel mane dragons
learn more of their jewel's magnificent, yet mysterious, power. Powers such as the manipulation
of others' minds, creation of nature, and so much more. The academy's teachers aim to help
you master your special talent. The school looks forward towards teaching you." she smiled
again, then walked off the podium.

Narquantra rushed into the auditorium 5 minutes late as always. She had slept in for the first day of the Jewel Academy! Now that was pretty pathetic even for her! She looked around the room franticly to find a seat in time. Luckily there was an open seat at the end of the row so she didn't have to push people around to get a seat. Quickly she sat down before anyone else could come and watched the speaker intensively.

Paradise turned to see someone had flung themselves in the nearby empty seat, looking a bit tired and panicky.
"Hi! I'm Paradise!" she said a bit more loudly than intended. Oops. She was exciiiiiited about today, though. Maybe after finishing this course she could grow the best flowers in the world, the ultimate garden! Focus on the lecture, Paradise. She stopped fantasizing but continued to grin like an idiot...or a little kid hyped up on sugar. Either comparison worked in her case...
But man was she excited.
