Canis smiled, then froze, his whiskers twitching. His deaf ears swiveled and suddenly, he glanced sharply at Jaystar. "Foxes." He hissed. Then, without giving anyone chance to react, he bounded away, his wolf tail disappearring from sight. He raced through the forest, searching the sense of vibrations. He made a sharp left and found himself running besides the stream. he saw Starlingheart, but there was no time to stop and talk. He raced on ahead and the river vanished. He finally found hem and, wihtout a thought, leaped at the fox, wolf fangs beared and a wolf growl issuing from his throat. The fox yelped, startled by the appearance of the wolf. It tried to scramble away, and Canis angirly batted it's head to the side, slicing his claws across it's face. It yelp[ed with pain and he barked. Short, sharp, and angry. The fox got the message and, without a second thought, turned and scampered away. Canis waited a few minutes, then, positive it wouldn't come back, he turned to Lightpaw. He gently turned her over and saw the wounds to her face. He grimaced and tuned to the other cat. "Help me. Go find some cobwebs while I clean her face." He said. His voice demanded no argument. He knew several different remedies and herbs that would help her, but he knew that none of the ehrbs he needed where in this forest. All of it came from the forests he had roamed and the caves he had slept in. He licked her wounds with a gentle, yet rasping, tongue, trying to clean as much blod away as possile.
