(( EDIT: Never mind about that, finished Adam's picture. Let me know when he's accepted and I'll have him raring to go for the exam. He's excited! Changed colours for Mira to match her cutie mark and form, leaving yellow and blue for Adam.

Recap - The ponies had a small delay in the carriage ride to the School as a guard sprained his wing - Miraculous Recovery fixed it. They arrived at the school, Princess Celestia met them and now they are undergoing tests to see which pony is in which house. Mira is in house Gryphon, Tia in house Changeling. ))

The praise of her schoolmates and especially Princess Celestia made her feel as if she were walking on clouds like a pegasus. She said I have potential to do something great! I'l work like never before. Soon I'll be able to do that without breaking a sweat, I promise, Princess! Shivering slightly as the gryphon badge was pinned to her chest, she smiled at her schoolmates, revelling in Celestia's motherly attention and their appreciation. She downed the potion, feeling its soothing formula spreading through her veins. Ohhh. Smart, she thought, soon feeling well enough to merely investigate the chemicals in her veins. I'd never have thought of using rain poppies.

The cheering died down and Tiara stepped forward, pulling Miraculous Recovery from her thoughts. A manticore rose from Celestia's magic this time, another mare clutched in its paw. She watched in awe as Tia disabled the paw of the manticore like Mira had, then gasped as she pulled off a duplication spell. The alicorn literally ran rings around the beast, but as the time to strike came about, she seemed to be having issues. That duplication spell probably took it out of her, it must have been incredibly taxing. Come on, Tia, you're so close! Don't give up, you can do this!

Yelling encouragement with the other ponies, Mira hoped that she would find the strength to go on. Her spirit rose as Tia's wings spread and great blades of magic roared at the manticore, one last buck dissolving it for good. Smashing her hooves on the floor, Mira smiled as she was sorted into the house Changeling and came to sit by her. "Good? You were outstanding! You've got to show me that duplication spell sometime, that was a stroke of genius. House Changeling fits you, it was very cunning indeed!" The unicorn admired the changeling badge pinned to Tia, grinning at her.

(( I'm not sure that there's much to do in this situation without Llamacorn here to play Princess Celestia. It's a bit of an awkward spot for now, but once we're past sorting and into normal school life, we won't have to rely on one person for so long, I hope! ))

Rainbow lightning walked out to the students to watch the ceremony. She looked around. She knew she was young for a teacher, only 19, so she felt weird around the students.

(( Nice! Thanks you very much Question, is this during or after the Mane Six? I keep on putting references in there to them or other ponies from that period of time and then having to change it because I don't know if they're relevant. ))

She was about to say something else to Tia when a young colt stepped forward, looking surprisingly determined and unshaken despite what he'd just seen. Doesn't he know the magnitude of that challenge? I hope he's careful... He could overstep his bounds, magically, very easily. Miraculous Recovery calmed herself by reasoning that she didn't know what this colt was like with his magic - however his lack of cutie mark didn't give her any clue as to what strategy he might use.

She was eager to see, though. Even younger ponies found their way into books she'd never seen before, and managed some great feats that she would later learn from them. Young minds, so ready to explore. You never know, I guess. This'll be interesting, though I don't expect any duplication spells from him any time soon. The thought brought her back to Tia, and she smiled at the alicorn sitting next to her, proudly wearing the Changeling badge.

Volunteering For Exams

Keeping this quiet for so long was odd for Adamantium Shield. However, everypony knew how important it was to suss out an enemy before going in to fight. It was clear to see that they were not new to the School - pulling off spells of that calibre were quite out of Adam's reach by this point. They both had their cutie marks, he noticed, once again wondering what his would be. Shield spells? Using weaponry with telekinesis? Maybe even some sort of crowd control! That would be so cool...! The thought of stopping an army in their tracks with his magic sent shivers down his spine.

Adam, focus for pony's sake! ... These two were enough to see what I might be up against, I think. Big ol' creatures with screaming mares in paws. I can do this, even if I can't duplicate or do brain-stuff! The first year trotted forward, bowing low to Princess Celestia, the mare he hoped to protect one day. "I'd like to go now, please, Princess." He said, carefully injecting as much respect as he could into his words. "I think I'm ready." I hope she doesn't go easy on me just because I'm smaller than those other two mares.
