Halo shot behind Aztec, keeping her wings folded tightly against her back. She could feel their weight, growing heavier as they began to get pelted on by the merciless rain. Lightning flashed across the sky and illuminated the clearing with an eerie light, making every wolf out to be a shape of energy instead of body and flesh. The shadows were also magnified and she shivered softly. Digging her hind legs into the ground more and more, she propelled herself forward, easily staying at the head of the pack; she knew this would also mean she would be one of the first to meet Seth's wolves in battle. The thought no longer terrified her; it made her glad. If she was to die here and now, it would save another wolf's life. She howled and felt in her heart that before she went down, she would bring one of Seth's down with her.
Shane snarled as he heard Lyra's battle cry. "There!" He growled, nodding with his blood red head to the running group of wolves. A drop of rain slid down his face and over his wet snout. He began to plunge forward, aiming for Lyra. Another wolf ran beside her: Aztec was his name; Shane suspected he was probably right in saying that Aztec would pose a problem to allowing him access to Lyra. The red wolf didn't care, the need for blood powering his feral desire.
