Dewstar jumped, almost falling into the river. She heaved a sigh. "Because dear.... your father is dead."

Ashfall's mouth fell open. "Wait..... Foxfur's dead?" He gasped. Now only he lived to carry on his father's lineage.

"Yes, I didn't want him to go through the pain he was going though, So I had Dappleleaf feed him some death berries," Dewstar let her ears and tail droop at the speaking of her dead mate.

Ashfall nodded. "It was for the best." He meowed, and pressed his nose into his mother's neck fur.

Dewstar sighed. "Amberstone is now a loner, Applefrost is dead and so is your father, your my only kit left." she licked him in between the ears.

"Welcome to StarClan." a voice meowed padding up to Foxfur. "How's Dewstar? I've been meaning to watch her but Honeypaw's been having trouble with stuff. It's so good to see you again father." It was Applefrost.

Ashfall nodded. "I'll take up his mantle." He promised. He would become the greatest warrior the Clan had ever seen.

Dewstar purred weakly. She looked at Echostorm then back at Ashfall. "I'm going to miss him so much,"

"When I get back, It'll be time to name some apprentices and kits warriors and apprentices." Dewstar said, though she tried to hide the tears that were about to well up in her eyes.
