Mistfang padded into camp, a fat vole and a bird dropped on the kill pile. She sighed agervatedly. She needed a friend, someone to talk to.

Foxfur led Dewstar out of the cave, away from Echostorm. "I have to tell you something"He sat down, gaxing into his mate's eyes. "I want to say sorry. I know you love Echostorm, you eat with him and watch him...I can tell by her face. But....before you decide not to be my mate anymore, I wanted to say....I wanted to say... Dewstar looked at Foxfur. She was speechless. She was thinking hard, what should she say? It was like all of the words hopped out of her mouth and took off.

Foxfur stared into Dewstar's eyes with hurt ones. "But you can go. Go and love someone else, someone younger. Someone you hadn't know for a long long time. Your the reason most things haven't happend to me. How am I supposed to explain this to our kits? Forget it. Go. Go back to Echostorm."He said, blinking back tears. He truely loved Dewstar. "remeber...Remeber I will always love you with all of my heart. Your are the reason the sun rises and sets. You will make him very happy"He gazed at her again, then turned and bolted.

"Foxfur!" Dewstar called after him but he seemed to far away to hear her. This is all my fault! "Oh Foxfur." her knees buckled. She fell to the ground. I'm so sorry! she thought sadly.

"What's wrong dad?"Amberstone immediatly leaped up, licking Foxfur's cheek. "No, no I can't tell you"He sobbed. "Please"Amberstone whispered.
