Teacup Dragon Roleplay {Now Open!}

Hello! Many of you have probably seen the beautiful Teacup Dragons by now, created by the wonderful artist Vindhov! But many people, myself included, have wanted to see a roleplay starring these fascinating little reptiles. So, Vindhov has given me permission to start a roleplay for all Teacup-owners, which will be featured on the Adoption Page for the TDs!

But first, a bit of info.

What are Teacup Dragons?

If you tread carefully, watching closely, you might be lucky to catch a glimpse of these shy dragons. They can be found all over the world in various terrain as long as there is plant life to be seen. The biggest groups are usually found in flower patches and meadows, however these tiny critters can also be found high up in the trees or in forests, deserts and even mountains and tundras. They are well adapted to the world around them and the most striking thing about them is their amazing camoflauge. They usually have a green or brown main body colour with strikingly vibrant colours on the insides of their wings or stomach and face, which often reflects the flowers they usually hide in.

Teacup dragons also have what looks like flowers growing on their bodies. These flowers are infact mutated scales and skin, however they offer great protection when hiding amongst the flowers. Almost all ground living Teacup Dragons have a green tail which stands up when they are hiding, the tree living ones have brown tails that they wrap around the branches when hiding.

Teacup Dragons size range from as small as fitting in the palm of a hand to being around as big as a basketball. They are however usually compared to the size of teacups, hence the name Teacup Dragons.

Here's the Adoption page. Vindhov makes new dragons around every four days or so!


Do I have to apply to join the roleplay?

No, as long as you officially own a Teacup (look for archives below), then you are automatically a roleplayer!

Do I have to participate if I own a Teacup?

Of course not! No one can force you to roleplay, though we'll welcome you with open arms if you decide to join in!

Official TD Roleplaying Rules

1.) In order to participate in the roleplay, you must officially own a Teacup dragon. All dragons that currently have owners will be listed below in the archives.

2.) Please keep any non-TD related chat out, and keep non-roleplaying-TD-chat to the minimum; that's what the Teacup Dragon Official Thread is for.

3.) All of the site rules apply; keep it PG, people!

4.) If you are unfamiliar to roleplaying...well, most people can go by common sense, but if you're still confused you may want to check out A Roleplaying Guide, or RP Rules. Both of these guides are very helpful!

Roleplay Info

A colony of Teacups is currently living in a very unusual yet creative and comfortable place. A farmer's land! Yes, this place is perfect. The farmer's wife is an avid gardener, and has planted lilies down by the stream and hyacinths around the bird feeder and lilacs by the barn doors! This place is wonderful and a truly great home for Teacups of all sorts. Out in the wildflower-filled fields behind the barn, papavers and buttercups sprout galore, and beyond that, the forest - where ground ivy and even the rare carnivorous plants, like Venus Flytraps, take sprout. Farmer John's land is the ideal place for TDs, and they couldn't wish for more!

To map it out for you, the farmhouse is surrounded by lush gardens that the farmer's wife, appropriately named Rosebeth, is quite fond of caring for. A few dozen yards away is the barn - a large red-painted building, home to noisy cows, trouble-making cats, a couple beautiful horses, and a pair of dogs named Rufus and Donner. Beyond the barn is a large area of meadow, separated into two pastures where horses go during the day and where sheep live full-time. Beyond that is an area of woodland that seems to stretch on endlessly, and which both tempts and frightens even the most bravest of garden-dragons, but which many wildflower dragons call home.

On the other side of the farmhouse is a rather steep hill and grassy hill that the two farmdogs are fond of running down. At the foot of the hill is a stream about three yards wide, which heads along the foot of the hill until it hits the road, a gravel-and-dust dirt thing of little interest to older Teacups, but which is quite a curious thing to young Teas. On the side of the stream opposite the farmhouse, many, many acres of corn stretch out beyond the sky's length - Farmer John's crops.

Non-dragon characters include Rosebeth, the farmer's wife, a gardener who doesn't know that Teacups exist; Farmer John, the farmer, an old man who doesn't know that Teacups exist; Rufus, a large and clever old border collie who's in charge of taking care of the sheep and who can't talk to dragons, yet knows they exist and is quite friendly with them; Donner, a yappy little Maltese dog who is determined to catch a dragon - rather dumb; the horses, cows and sheep, all of whom are scared of Teacups; Snick and Sneak, a pair of nasty rat snakes that live in the pastures and try to catch and eat smaller dragons; and lastly, the songbirds, who come to the feeder in the hyacinth patch to eat and who often agitate Teacups when their tails are mistaken for worms.

I'll start.

Blitz poked his long green snout out of the hyacinth patch where he slept. It was a hot day already, even though the sun was barely up, and the thick, heavy feeling in the air mingling with the gray swirls of cloud in the sky foreshadowed rain. The little Teacup was fine with this, though; his flowers needed rain. It was too dry for hyacinths this early in June. Blitz breathed deeply in the air - it smelled of heat, humid skies, and the perfume of Blitz's flowers, a celery-like, leafy smell. Delicious.

The dragon scurried back into his patch, carefully brushing past purple blossoms until he came upon the birdfeeder that rested in the middle of his garden. Scattered around the base of the feeder, no doubt left by some of those messy sparrows, were tiny piles of sunflower seeds. Blitz scooped half a dozen of the tasty tidbits up with his raccoon-like paws and began to cram them into his mouth. After he finished his meal of the yummy seeds, he washed them down with a draught of dew. It was a good breakfast! But now Blitz was bored. No gardening to be done; not until the rain came, at least. The Teacup trotted off in search of something to do. Maybe he could find another dragon to talk with, like Blanchefleur or Ramona. Ámbar was a nice dragon to talk with as well.

[I have never actually roleplayed in english so if I do something wrong please tell me ^^'' I will stick to the rules I learned in swedish forums and se how it goes]

Ramona sighed deeply as she overlooked the garden from the barn roof. She hadn't seen Baltazar and Mina all day and frankly she wasn't suprised either. They were way to busy looking over their two tiny eggs that they barely even left to forige for food.
She could hear her stomach rumbling as she fought about it. Food, perhaps it would be good to find some. After all she hadn't eaten anything since yesterday.
She lifted her head to the gray sky and shrugged. She hated rain. It would probably be for the best for her to find some food quick before taking cover from the huge water drops that could be falling on her head any minute now.

Ramona spread her pink and brown wings before leaping of the edge of the roof. She was aiming at the birdfeeder. Those messy creatures allways left seeds behind. She gently rode on the wind all the way without having to flap her wings and landed softy on the edge of the feeder. With her small talons she managed to swipe a few seeds which she then cracked open with her claws. She could of course eat the shell aswell, but picky as she were she hated to chew and swallow the though shell.
After having her fill she once again unfolded her wings and was just about to take of from the feeder when she noticed something moving beneath her. Her curiosity stired and she held on tightly to the edge while she looked down to the ground. Down there she could se the magnificent purple flowers and whilst looking closer she also saw the dragon tending them.
"Blitz... is that you?" she asked carefully.

Blitz, humming softly to himself, glanced up to see Ramona perched high above him, on the bird feeder's edge. "Oh, hello Ramona!" He chirped cheerfully. "Good thing this rain's coming, huh? The flowers need it." Blitz smiled, "The worms will like this too. The soil's been a bit too dry for my taste, but that's just a hyacinth's opinion." His smile grew wider, until it was practically a grimace.

Not waiting for Ramona to reply to Blitz's weather-related remarks, the Teacup continued to talk as he turned the soil with his paws. "So, seen Baltazar lately? Everyone knows Mina's got to care for their eggs, but I'd think that the father dragon would have a bit of time to flutter around, talk to his fellow dragons."

Adsila (whee!) soared up so high she was level with a hawk, which kept its distance from the dragon. Feeling the heavy cloak of rain-weary clouds on her wings, the strawberry Teacup had to laugh. It felt so good, to be damp again! Even if only slightly, from the humidity. It'd been so long since they'd had rain. So long since she'd even came outside since she'd laid eggs, but Tart was volunteering to be on egg duty for once, tucking bits of leaf matter around the pebble-like things.

Adsila began to glide gently down, spiraling towards the forest. She figured maybe she'd stop in the middle of the woods and try to imitate birdcalls again. Or maybe, even more daring of an adventure - Adsila could go up to the farm and try to cling to the mane of one of those "horse" things as they trampled across the field! It was a dangerous idea, but one she'd been pondering for a while. Maybe, if she did it just right, then Adsila would have fun today! What a great break in the monotony that would be.

Roa quickly scampered up the side of the barn as the little white maltese dog yapped loudly a few breaths away from his tail. The canine could not reach him though, and stood reared and unable to get to him. The green-colored daffodil teacup coolly swiveled his head to peer at the dog before promptly ascending to the top of the structure. He had met the dog many times before, but it wasn't very threatening; too noisy!

After feeling a comfortable breeze, Roa let out a sigh from his nostrils and looked out across the land, taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells. The scenery was a mass of colors; the fields out in front of him were a sea of greenish gold, the meadows were bustling with greenery and insects, and there was faint rain-smell as the dragon observed a couple of sheep down below. Another good day, he observed. Roa spread open his sunny wings and prepared for flight.

Launching himself from the barn's roof, he soared above the pastures, angling his crowned head down in a very birdlike manner to pin-point things that interested him...there! Spotting a bird bath, Roa decided that he would go swoop down for a quick drink, so he angled his wings and gracefully caught a hold on the edge. He was vulnerable on the bird bath, but that didn't bother him as he lowered his head for the water.

Adsila knew Tart wouldn't think much of her messing around with the horse things, not with eggs back in the nest, so after a quick once-over of the farm, she decided to go scavenging. Maybe some yummy blackberries would lighten her mood. She landed at the edge of the bush, stepping carefully around the prickly thorns, and used her paws to snap off the ripe bundles of inky juice. Mmm...blackberries tasted good, like strawberries and grapes and something sour yet delicious, all mixed together. She tucked three extra berries under the feathers of her wings to take back to her mate. Tart liked blackberries almost as much as her!

Somewhere in the valley in the farm lands a shy reddish brown teacup made herself busy by daydreaming a happier ending to her memory. Like always at that time of day she would hide under her favorite red bleeding heart bush to think about her past love, crushes, and how happy other teacups looked with their mates.
She could only gaze at them from a distance, her spring green eyes filled with loneliness.
With a small sigh she curls up, covering her face with her dark green tinted wings. In a way she loved doing this, it made her focus on the pinkish red under feathers of her wings. For a split moment forgetting her sadness to observe the interesting pattern of her wings. It made her feel a bit special about herself and that was something she didn't feel often.
