Brightfrost nodded. She clentched her teeth. "Do you know how many I'm having?"

Echopaw shakes her head and says "Three or four, not sure".

"Thanks. Echopaw, you are a great med-"She broke off, a yowl of pain erupting from her mouth. She could feel ther kit. It was ready. She pushed, hard.

Echopaw watches, waiting silently until the kit is born.

Brightfrost pushed, harder. She felt that the kit was nearly out. She pushed a final time and sighed as the wet bundle flopped out onto the soft moss. She leaned over and licked it clean, making it warm. She fell back as she felt another kit coming.

Brightfrost pushed again. This kit was smaller. It came out in one push. She paused, then licked it. she purred, but continued to push out the third kit.
