Res purred and purred. He liked being around Aziz, she gave him a happy feeling inside. He felt an undiscribable warmth inside. Aziz made him feel things he never felt before. No other tigeress could give him such a joy inside. Could it be that Res truely dearly loved Aziz? Res sighed and content, happy sigh, Yes, it could be. he thought.

Aziz shook away the thoughts that had started bombarding her again and smiled, If we end up together, I hope it ends better than the last. she thought to herself as she continued rubbing against Res.

Thorn pricked his ears when he heard the crying. Curiosity aroused, he padded closer. By the time he could see who it was, she had stopped, but he saw Renegade sitting by the pond. He heard a distant roar, and Renegade's reply. She sounded so sad. He walked out and sat beside her. "You okay?" he asked, looking at her with genuinely caring eyes.

Renegade shook her head, resisting to turn her head away from the pond to see who asked her. "No, I'm not really all that okay." she said softly in her velvety, melodious voice that sounded like a bird chirping its song in the morning. She sighed and turned her head, turning her sorrowful glance to Thorn. Her usually bright and cheerful beautiful icy blue eyes were dull and dark, tainted with misfortune. Renegade was a believer of spirtual things, and she felt that the energy that danced around her was sad, unhappy, dark. The energy brightened just a little when Thorn came, but it wasn't enough. Renegade's anger, her sorrow, her mental pain was too much. She shook her head slowly. "Everything always goes wrong. Nothing ever goes the way I want. I don't ask for much... And yet, nothing ever goes my way. Every step I take something goes wrong... I can't even breathe without ruining something! All I want is to feel important, needed, loved, but no. I can't even have a simple wish. Everyone else always has happy moments in their lives. Whether they come a lot, or rarely. Mine never come. Whoever is controlling my life obviously hates me wants to make me as miserable as possible!" tears welled up in Renegade's eyes and she blinked them away, one escaping down her white face. "I don't want to have a perfect life. No one's perfect. It isn't possible to be completely perfect. But I just wish my life could at least have a bit of perfectness... No. My life is horrible... I have no family, no reason for anything, no one who loves me... I don't even have a past! Without a past, I have no future. My past is too horrible. I can't even remember it... What kind of tiger doesn't even remember their family? Their past? The whole beginning of their miserable, stupid life?!" Renegade almost shouted. "I was never anything. I am nothing. I will never be anything important. I'm just stupid old me."

"That's not true," Thorn said quietly. "Well, I don't know about your past. I can't help you there. But here, in the present, you're not worthless. You're not nothing. You're not unloved. Don't belittle yourself. You're so beautiful, so wonderful," he said, gently stroking beneath her chin with his tail. He felt some unfamiliar feelings stirring inside of him, but rather than suppressing them as he usually did, he unleashed them. He let them show in his eyes for her to see that he cared. He thought she was special. He... loved her.

"You think I'm.... Beautiful? Important? Wonderful? You actually care about me, don't you?" Renegade said softly. She noted the look in his eyes and nodded. She lowered her voice and a smile played on her face. "Aww." she murmured softly. She nudged her head under his, purring softly.

((Tigers can't actually purr, can they? I know lions can't...But can tigers? Or do they just make that affectionate growling sound like lions?))

[I think they can purr. If not, 'purr' just refers to that noise. x3]

Thorn purred as well. He hadn't been sure how she would react, but he was glad that she felt the same way, or at least it seemed that she did.

Renegade smiled softly and stood up, turning, her tail fluttering past his face delicately. She walked off a ways, then turned her head to look behind her. "Coming?" she trilled, smiling, her melodious ringing voice quiet and soft. She turned, walking away slowly, swaying her tail, telling him to come. She smiled and waited for him to come, slowing her pace to a slow walk.

Thorn eagerly followed after her. "Where we going?" he asked.

Renegade smiled playfully. "You'll see." was all she said.

Thorn shrugged and smiled back. "I guess I will."
