Soul felt like he was drifting in a void of darkness, no, of nothingness. He only felt like himself, and though he tried to open his eyes, at first, it seemed like they were sealed shut, and he couldn't see anything. He could feel movement around him, not of others, but of his own body. Then a sharp, cold pang hit his side and snow flurried up from where he had landed. This time, when he opened his eyes, he could actually see.

Wind swept around a yellow-furred pup's head as his bright blue eyes squinted open. "Mmmrrr...." He whined, pawing at the snow as he finally forced himself up. The other form was still out cold.
