Dapplefawn blushed through her tawny spotted fur. "I..I..how...what..?" she stuttered, unsure of what was going on. "I don't...I mean, I do, but....you..?" She was so confused. Of course she liked Thrushfeather, she had liked him since she was an apprentice. But he didn't like her back! He couldn't! Why would he?

Brightleaf shrugged and frowned slightly. "I guess so..." she meowed, regaining her balance. "But i can handle going hunting. I'll just take it slow. I promise," she nuzzled her mate affectionately.

Thrushfeather breathed out through his nose and mewed, "I meant what I said." He nudged her gently with his muzzle.

Dapplefawn didn't turn away but stared at Thrushfeather quizzically. "Why are you lying to me?" she asked him. "It's bad enough I've had to watch you from a distance my entire life, and now you're dangling it the in front of my face! Yes, Thrushfeather, I like you. But you don have to pretend to like me back." She stood up and ran, ran to the only place she had ever felt safe. Through the maple trees and on the far side of the river, she jumped over logs poking out of the melting snow. She ran until she came to the old fox den where she's and Rabbitfur had hid when they were kits, before they joined MapleClan. It wasn't until she had made it to te fox den that the tears started flowing. Why would he make fun of me like this? she asked herself. Who told him that I like him?

Owlwing sighed and turned to face Bramblepath, her ginger pelt dappled with the slightest rays of light reaching into the nursery. Ooh, why do I always feel like I have to tell him I love him? Would Lynxshadow be okay with it? she shook her pelt and opened her mouth to speak. "Would you mind minding the kits whilst I stretch my legs and get something to eat?" she mewed, arching her back and stretching her forelegs until they shook.

Goldenwhisker dashed out of camp, Dovestripe at his side. He felt the breeze comb through his silky, golden-cream pelt as he whisked away into the forest. Each stride was as graceful as a swan's elegance, his tail held low and his head high. He seemed proud, but why he was running, he did not know.

Dovestripe bounded alongside her uncle, her long legs pushing her onwards like springs. She barely used any effort at all. When she saw Goldenwhisker stop, she kept going, slinking away and out of the territory. She was on the prowl, suddenly drawn towards Fogpaw. Why he had gone, nobody knew. She picked up rustling, and a flash of a bright red pelt right outside the territory. "Emberscreech!" she hissed as the she-cat came into view.

Redpaw growled and rubbed herself against a tree, completely ignoring Dovestripe. She sprayed, marking a new border inside of MapleClan's.

Dovestripe yowled and was soon joined by Goldenwhisker.

Ospreyfeather was overjoyed at the fact that his mate was kitting soon. He lay outstretched in the clearing, watching the clouds roll by as he purred happily.

"Ok." Vineclaw purred. He nuzzled her back and then looked out into the forest." We're should we go first?" He asked her with a smile.

Bramblepath smiled and shook his head. "No trouble at all," he assured Owlwing, padding farther into the nursery. "Thank you so much for doing for them what I am unable to do. It means the world to me." He padded up to his kits. "How are you all doing?" he asked them, licking each kits' head in turn.

Lynxkit bounced up up and down excitedly. "We're good, father!" she mewed in her high pitched kit voice. She studied Bramblepath for a while, then glanced at Owlwing. "Are you and mother in love?" she asked.

Bramblepath laughed, glancing at Owlwing. "No, I was I love with your real mother," he answered, laying down beside his kits.

Brightleaf shrugged. "We could go to the clay cliffs?" she suggested to Vineclaw, beginning to pad in that direction.
