We Must Fight! (Warrior cat RP V.2) Accepting!

Oakpaw clasped his jaw tighter around the chickadee, narrowing his eyes. "Thank you for the help, but I caught this prey, and it belongs to Windclan-" He stopped short. Why was he being so stubborn..? He was on her territory, after all. Taking a deep breath, he nodded, "My apologies." He changed his temper quickly. "It was caught on Thunderclan land, so.." He dropped the bird at her paws, his eyes blank, and his chest puffed out. "Thank you again." He mewed, anxiously looking around. "My name is Oakpaw, by the way. I'm from Windclan." He flicked his ears towards the border, and looked into the she-cats soft eyes. "I'm taking it you're from Thunderclan." He mrrowed playfully, loosening up to the she-cats presence. He shook some more thorns from his flank, and looked back at the apprentice.

Fernpaw meowed, "Yes, ThunderClan alright. I'm Fernpaw. It was nice to meet you Oakpaw," she pushed the bird toward him with her nose, and then continued, "But you did catch the bird. Plus, I've already got a couple birds to take back to camp, and I can barely fit one in between my jaws!" She playfully commented, her eyes glistening. A cat called out suddenly, "Fernpaw! We're going back to camp! Hurry up!" She turned to Oakpaw, and meowed, "It was great meeting you, a nice cat from another Clan. Maybe we'll meet again at the gathering or something." She turned around, and vanished into the forest, her kind words lingering.

"Thank you-" Oakpaw began to mew after her, but slammed his jaws shut. He was ont Thunderclan territory.! He couldn't call out to her.! "I'm such a mousebrain." He hissed under his breath, and watched the spot where she had disappeared for another heartbeat, before he clamped the chickadee in his jaws, and dashed off onto the moor, completely absent to the faint smell of Thunderclan dusting his fur. He tumbled back into the clearing before Swiftstar, dropping the petite at her paws, and rolling back onto his haunches, licking some of the scratches he had gotten from the thorn thicket. Oakpaw took another deep breath and looked back up at Swiftstar for approval or denial, his blue eyes brimming with curiosity.

Swiftstar was about to praise the apprentice when her hackles raised slowly. She meowed, "ThunderClan? Oakpaw, is that you? What is ThunderClan scent doing on your pelt?"

Oakpaw bristled anxiously, "Well.. I kinda.. Fell into a bramble bush." He admitted, looking at his paws in embarrassment. "A Thunderclan she-cat came to help me.." He choked out the words, unable to meet Swiftstars eyes with his own- so, he kept staring uneasily at his paws. "I know... It was clumsy, and mousebrained of me.." He whispered, squeezing shut his eyes. I'm about as good as hunting as a mouse. He wanted to add, but held his tongue. It wasn't the time to be criticizing himself- this was Swiftstars time to judge his actions. He slightly raised his gaze, daring to meet the she-cats looming gaze.

Swiftstar meowed, "What did this cat do? What did she say?" Her eyes narrowed slightly. She was going to ask him if he was positive she was a ThunderClan cat, but stopped. "It's fine. What's done is done. Go eat, Oakpaw. You did good today." She turned around, and disappeared into her den with a small, scrawny mouse.

The apprentice shivered. He didn't even have the time to respond before the leader took off. With a huff, he obeyed her order gladly, dropping the small bird on the fresh kill pile and drawing up a shrew in his jaws greedily. He padded over to the area where the apprentices slept, and settled down, on his belly, biting into the sweet flesh of the shrew. Thoughts bolted through his mind like lightening. He didn't know why, but most of them seemed to be about Fernpaw. She was so kind to him, even though he was from a different clan. Could he say he would do the same If she was on his territory. He tried to fight the thoughts back, and focus on the season. It was a biting leaf-bare.

Fernpaw padded into camp, her fluffy tail swaying in the air. She dropped her kills on the pile that seemed to be growing in size each day. Hopefully, this leaf-bare will be better than last. She walked up to Spottedstar, and asked, "Will I be going to the gathering?"
"Yes, Fernpaw. This will be your first gathering, so you'll have to follow your mentor's instructions carefully. Behave yourself, okay?"
Fernpaw nodded, and slid into the Apprentice's den. She crawled into her nest, and closed her eyes. She felt Brokenpaw slip into the nest beside her, and Fishpaw slip into the other vacant nest to her right. She sighed, happily. Oakpaw...

[warrior cats rock]

"Mind If I sit with you?" Littlepaw asks Silverpaw after his good eye adjusts to the darkness again.

"no I don't mind"she said with a smille
