Bluetail managed to sit up, her blood seeping out of her side slowing down, but not stopping.

"Rainclaw..." she choked, nuzzling her now dead best friend's cheek with her own, "Rainclaw...I'll never forget you. You'll always be my best friend..."

A part of her died right along with Rainclaw in that moment, and she knew deep down she would never be the same without him. And she would be reminded for forever that she caused this; the wounds on her flank and her broken rib would always be a reminder that she hesitated and caused Rainclaw to die.

Darkpelt winced as he dragged his back leg on the ground, which was bloody and probably sprained. He limped over to Rainclaw, and everything in his body seemed to slow down. He stared, horrified at the tom's limp body. He had no idea how it had happened so quickly, the badger was there one minute, only to take the life of an honorable cat before it's own life was washed away.

He dug his claws into the ground, lower jaw trembling as he tried to find words to will him to life. None came to his lips. "R-rainclaw..." He meowed in disbelief, tears blurring his vision. He watched Bluetail wail as she held onto her friend, a shriek that he had never heard in his life escaping her throat.

All he could do was stare at the tom as his eyes began to lose their light of life. I can't believe this... he couldn't be dead... no, that's it, it's all just a joke. Rainclaw, please wake up! He asked, choking back tears. Even though he wasn't very close with the tom, he had high respect for him. Plus, he was a dear clan-mate and was special to Bluetail.

Suddenly the tom's expression turned very sour. StarClan has foresaken us! He growled in the back of his head. How could they let an innocent cat die like this? Everything that's been happening... they aren't guarding us anymore! They have left us to die!

Pebble frost stepped forward and licked his brother's pelt. Unlike the females, he contained his growing grief and stayed silently mourning.
