The she-cat could only hold on for so long, and when the badger flailed almost manically, she flipped off and fell to the earth. She clambered to her feet, her broken rib making her movement ridged and ungraceful, when the badger raked it's claws down her side, splitting her fur and skin.
She screeched in pain, and collapsed onto the earth. Blood pooled around her, and her body was racked with agony. She raised her head and watched the badger rise up and raise a paw to send her to Starclan.
A body of golden fur leaped into her sight, and it was a tomcat she'd never seen before. He held the badger at bay, hissing and biting it's neck.
No cat can face a badger on their own...He needs my help...
She struggled to her paws, her fur soaking up her blood and staining the cream colour red. She walked forward gingerly, and unsheathed her claws. She felt close to passing out from the pain, but she had a Warrior spirit: she stood tall and bared her claws and fangs. Bluetail just couldn't walk properly with her side torn open and a broken rib on the same side.
She coughed up some more blood, and stood firmer, trying to shake off her dizziness.
"...Rainclaw..." she rasped and hobbled to him, trying to rouse him, "Rainclaw...Wake up..."
