The she-cat lifted her head momentarily to the sound of Rainstorm's voice calling out her name. She was a little way downhill from him, so he probably couldn't catch her scent as easily. With a sigh she abandoned the smell of squirrel she had picked up to return to her hunting partner. "Yeah, I'm over here." She sighed dramatically, as if Rainstorm was a burden to her. "You and Leopardfur finished with you little chat? I just picked up the scent of some prey downhill, we'd better get a move on if we plan on getting it." She meowed, tail twitching with annoyance. She was a very stubborn warrior and took a while to warm up to. She really wasn't frustrated with him, she was just very hot-headed.

The tom sighed, ears flattening. "But why would you talk to him? I understand he threw himself over the waterfall at his own risk and by his own accord, but I still don't understand why you had business with him." He meowed gently, his eyes soft. He was not angry with the she-cat, but he wanted answers. He wasn't exactly sure what he was going to do with them yet. He told himself it was just for closure, that Leopardfur was just in a bad mood when she yelled at Rainclaw. But part of him hoped that she had defended Darkpelt to Rainclaw, telling him the Bluetail wasn't meant to be with him. He cringed with guilt, trying to ward the thoughts out of his mind. He couldn't be attracted to Bluetail. He had told Watersprout himself that he would never have a mate. Time has only proven that it is a bad idea to fraternize with the corner of his heart that begged him to pour out love for the she-cat. It was too risky, much too risky. Suddenly he heard a cat approaching, causing his thoughts to scatter. He whirled around and pounced out of the den in one stride, finding himself come face-to-face with an angry-looking tom. He flattened his ears and pulled his lips back in a slight snarl, bracing himself for a fight. Instead, he hear Firestrike pour out an account on one of the dreams he had recently encountered. It dawned on Darkpelt that it was exactly the same as the one he had just a few days earlier. "I... I'm not sure." The tom stammered, his ears flattening against his head as he searched his thoughts for a rational answer. "Let's just... can we discuss this in private?"
