Briar licked the slashes in Iris's side, whispering to her "Please, Iris, speak to me. Something, anything." He repeated the words he had said earlier- "I love you. I don't want to be alone."

"I won't leave." iris rasped, "But....what happened?"

"So now she is the good girl?" Rain asked confused

Iris stood up weakly, confused.

Skye limped to the river and laid down.

Briar supported her as she stood up, and began filling her in on the details. "A Shade took you over- you were released from his control when I killed him by driving a pointed stick through his black heart."

"is he the one that hurt me?" iris asked

Skye limped along silently. They seemed to not even care knight and ria had died, pathetic. She ignored the trail of blood she left behind and kept going, driven by thirst.

Briar wanted to lie to her, to say yes, but he couldn't force himself to do it. "No. When they saw that you, Skye, and Ria were possessed, they tried to kill you. I stopped them just in time, but Ria died. Knight died trying to kill her. You and Skye just barely escaped with your lives... and your souls."

"then where is Skye? Where is ria and knight?" Iris asked, starting to get stressed.

Skye frowned when she found no water but kept going. The least she could do was end her pain forever. She'd simply limp as far as she could until she collapsed. She didn't deserve to have lived through whatever happened.

"I don't know where Skye went." Said Briar, trying to calm Iris down. "Ria and Knight are dead. The Shade is dead. Blaze, Luna, Izzy, and Rose are still alive. If there are any others, I don't know of them."
