Rusa and mystery returned after a long walk. They had found nothing at all. No tracks, no scent to follow. These wolves were really smart. Rusa silently sneaked into the den and laid down, not wanting to wake anyone who was sleeping.

Mystery went into her den and laid down on her side, stretched out. She couldn't get it.....no tracks, no scent, just nothing. How in h*** had they done it? And what did they want?

((Okay, then, which pups do you control and what are their names? I know you control Mystery, Tal, Rusa, and Iris, but other than that I have no idea.))

Blaze kept his eyes on the path outside their den, but murmured to Mystery and old saying he had once heard: "Even on the blackest nigh, a single ray of hope can light the world." He smiled at her kindly, not caring if she saw it or not. "Don't give up hope, even if you can't find them. Because when dawn comes, we'll be prepared."

((Oh, I have a good idea for Kecil... but it'll have to wait until they open their eyes. A little longer, just a little. We have to wait until they're four months old, so by spring they'll be ready ^^))

((I can't remember the pups names that I control. Ummm adults I play are:
Rusa, mystery, tal, iris, and some other wolf I forgot her name, but I won't bother playing her. I don't need to.))

mystery shook her head. "By the looks of it.....we won't....." She replied. Mystery had a bad feeling about this. She then finally fell alseep.

Rusa woke up and wandered outside. She walked off because there was nothing else to do anyway. A whole pack of the black wolves dragged her off, keeping her quiet. They tightly wrapped vines around her mouth then threw her in a pit, covering it up with a big boulder. The pack then left her. They would keep picking them off, one by one. One wolf had managed getting in and dragged one of the pups outside, birch. He viciously attacked him then left the limp body, covered in blood, in the blood red snow. He quickly left, leaving no trace behind at all.

((I think the names were Garza, for a patched male, and... I don't know if we ever named your female.))

Briar's eyes flashed open, along with the sense that something was terribly wrong. He got to his feet and looked at Iris. She was still asleep, curled around their pups. He frowned slightly, then padded outside. Izzy was stationed at the secret exit, and shook his head when Briar asked if any wolves had come in or gone out. He talked to Blaze, who was sitting across the entranceway from Luka, and they both told him that Rusa had gone out a bit after dawn and hadn't returned yet. The black wolf looked at the sky- dawn wasn't too far gone, and he was used to Rusa taking long walks. Suddenly he froze. Iris... pups... there were only four! He raced back to his den and woke Iris, not wanting to frighten her but needing to find his son. "Where is Birch?!" He howled, searching his den thoroughly, then racing into the caves to sound the alarm. "Where is my son?!"

Iris woke up, startled. She looked at the pups then stood and padded outside toward the disgusting scent of blood. Iris was shocked at what she saw her son, dead, in the snow. And a message was written in his blood in the snow near his tiny body: We need to send a message to you to show you who's the top pack around here. I hope you don't mind us killing one of the pups. And as for the female, took her. We'll continue picking you each off one by one and there's no stopping us. Iris choked up a little then nudged birch, a tear trickling down her face. She then ran back inside. Iris couldn't stand looking at his limp body. Iris laid back down in her den, curled up around the pups, and cried softly with her paws coveirng her face.

Briar had followed her out, as had Rose. "No..." she whispered, and as Briar ran back in to comfort Iris, she howled, "No!" She snarled up at the sky, "Haven't you done enough to me? I get this one chance at happiness, and then you go and kill one of my kin." She closed her eyes and bowed to her young nephew, then paced to a towering birch tree and began to dig in the hard, cold soil at it's roots.

Iris cried, sad. Why birch?! Why were they doing this?! She had never done anything to them! She didn't even dare tell Izzy rusa was taken either. He'd have to read the messgae or find out somehow by himself because she was too sad. Birch hadn't even gotten to hear or see! Not once! He didn't get to see her or briarand he never could hear them or other things such as singing birds.
