Iris sighed then got an idea. She stood and padded outside and over to a tree. A wolf lay sleeping next to it. Iris took slow steps closer then attacked him. He immediately woke up and they broke out into a loud fight, yelping and snarling at one another as they injured each other as best as they could. Iris's mother appeared, smirking. She tripped iris and it gave the wolf the chance to pin her down and bite her neck while raking his claws down her belly. "You knew I'd come, but you didn't know you'd die iris." Her mother sneered, unaware that iris would have pups, but knew that blows to the underbelly was commonly fatal.

Shadow looked up at Skye. "My parents are... um... I can't remember!" He broke out, sincerely trying to remember. "Will you help me find them?" Shadow sniffed, trying not to cry.

[Blu Malinois]

"sorry kid, I dont do that kind of thing. Your parents shouldn't have lost you in the first place." Skye replied.

Shadow nodded. "I guess." He said, steeling himself. "Thanks for saving me though." Shadow said, suddenly seeming a lot older and more mature than his age. He almost looked like something was weighing heavily on his mind. 'Maybe they didn't lose me... Maybe they left me?' Shadow suddenly thought, going through possible circumstances.

Skye nodded. 'How could they lose a pup?!! They're so stupid!!!' she thought angrily. Skye then silently limped away and laid down in a hollow log.

Shadow watched silently as Skye left. He sat down, and tried to think. He knew he had forgotten something, but no matter how hard he tried, Shadow just couldn't remember. He curled up and cried himself to sleep. While he slept, he remembered glimpses of his past.
Shadow was sitting with a group of other pups. They were all play fighting, and wrestling. As soon as the image appeared, it was gone.
He was whining for his mother, as Shadow and the other pups drifted away down river. A she-wolf looked on sadly. Shadow tried to swim, but his paws were tied together.
Shadow woke up with a fright. "She.. she tried to... kill me?" He covered his eyes, trying to make the images go away. He just kept seeing the dead and drowning pups around him. Shadow looked at his paws, to prove to himself that it was just a dream. It didn't help though. His ankles were chafed slightly, as if they had been tied.

Skye dozed off a little as she curled up, warm. The log was surprisingly more comfortable than she thought it would be.

Shadow decided to distract himself by exploring. Padding along, he found a small den by a waterfall. He shoved his muzzle inside and sniffed.

Sakura was awoken by a small muzzle poking into her side. Nudging Shadow out of the way, she stepped outside. "Sorry pup, I'm to tired to amuse you. Come back when I'm not in such a mood."

Shadow nodded to Sakura and continued onwards til he found himself in the same general area as Luna and Tal. Unwittingly he walked into a clearing.

Tal walked back over to Luna, a rabbit in his mouth. "See? I'm fine." he said and dropped the food in front of her.

Shadow was running, trying to wipe the bad memories from his mind. The pup ran straight into Tal. "Ouch..." His eyes went wide as he looked up at Tal. He whimpered slightly.
