(aww... they are so cute Gerbilfuzz. Animalgal- We'd love to have you! If you haven't read warriors, which is a great series if you'd like to read it, I can try my best to explain. Groups of cats live in the forest in clans, fighting for food and territory to survive. Picture if each clan is a country. The leader, is like a president. Their name ends in star. The deputy is like a vice president and will become the next leader, as well as pick the next deputy. A warrior is an adult cat. The ending of their name is chosen by the leader, but if you want to make a warrior, you can go ahead and pick it yourself. An apprentice is like a kid who trains under a warrior, like school. Their name ends in 'paw'. A queen is a cat who is pregnant or carrying for kits. A kit is a baby pretty much, ranging in age from 0 to 6 moons (months). Their name ends in 'kit' An elder is a cat retired from it's duties. A medicine cat is like a doctor, and cares for the clan. As well as keeping the cats well, they can communicate to Starclan (we call in Pearlclan in the RP) which is kind of like cat heaven. Their ancestors occasionally warn them by giving them prophecies and omens. Also, there is something called darkland (the Dark Forest in the books) that is kind-of like the opposite of Pearlclan/Starclan A medicine cat apprentice is the cat training under the medicine cat. The cats also follow what is called the Warrior Code, which I'll see if I can go copy and paste onto here. If you are still confused, feel free to ask for help! I hope you join us! Here is how the names work:
Take somthing like Leaf, Fluff, Grey, etc. But not Sofa, fence, brick, etc.
Then depending on the rank add
Leader: star
Warrior: almost anything, twig, tail, whisker, wing, foot, etc.
Apprentice: paw
Kit: kit
Rouge or Loner: they can have any name like Domino, Scratch, Rusty, ect.
Queen: they are warrior with kits so the same as warriors
Medicine cat: they are like warriors but usually more peaceful names, instead of Leafscar they might have Leafheart, Leafpool, Leafmist.
Medicine cat apprentice: paw
And here are the seasons:
Newleaf: spring
Greenleaf: summer
Leaffall: fall/autumn
Leafbare: you guessed it, winter! So right now it would be Leafbare which means it is harder to catch prey.
Prey:
mice
squirrels
voles and water voles
birds
rabbits
moles
shrews (very small)
Predators:
Dogs
Foxes
Badgers
Other clans:
BronzeClan
GoldClan
SiilverClan
PearlClan (heaven, where good dead cats go)
And the obsidian forest (where bad cats go))

Thanks for explaining it Gerbilfuzz. And here's the warrior code. Maybe we can get Shinyheart to put it on the first page:

1. Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
2. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
3. Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. If any warrior or apprentice is sick or injured, they may eat while the elders, queens, and kits are eating.
4.Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
5. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
6.Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
7. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
8. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
9. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
10.A Gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
11. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
12. No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from a different Clan.
13. The word of the Clan Leader is law.
14. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his/her battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
15. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.

The code may be broken in RP, it just adds to the drama.

Mistpaw yawned, getting up, before remembering they were going to the moonstone again. She was excited, but afraid... Last time it had not been so pleasant...

Dewheart picked up his paced, pressing forward along the steep path to the pearlstone.
