WhirlFlash flicked her ears and said nothing. She was not one to get into a fight, especially not with a queen.

FlightPaw watched the commotion from her den.

I sat in the apprentices den quietly. Usually I'd jump in with the commotion but, I couldn't stop thinking about Piedpaw and how she died in a feud between the clans and how that feud wasn't even settled. It was ridiculous for the two clans to be constantly fighting!

[Puddles.]

FlightPaw flattened her ears as the voices grew louder.

Sunheart followed Shymask quietly. He had already decided who his deputy would be.

I led Sunheart to the corner of Lightstar's den where the tuft of white fur lay. I pointed it out with my tail silently.

"He was killed by a cat of a white pelt. But, why would a cat do such a thing. There are few white cats in this Clan. Icepaw is only one of them." He looked out at the white apprentice.

Iceflame huffed her agreement and turned back to her kits. "Now not another word from any of you or you'll be treated like apprentices early and clean out the bedding."

Briarfall watched Icepaw with narrowed green eyes.

Finchgaze sat next to Sundew, quietly.

Sunheart padded out and jumped to Highrock. "Our leader was killed by a cat in white. We have few white cats in the Clan. And we know of no white rouges. We would have known if a cat from LunarClan had come. But, now before I leave tonight for the Moonwillow, I am going to name our new deputy. I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our ancestors may hear and approve my choice. Whirlflash will be the new deputy. She will watch the Clan until I return from the Moonwillow with my name and nine lives." He jumped from the rock, flashing a glare at Icepaw.

Lifestream rolled her eyes at what the Clan thought. Icepaw hadn't been Lightstar's murderer. She looked up at the darkening sky. "It's almost time to go, Sunheart," she mewed softly.

Briarfall blinked only slightly surprised at Sunheart's acquization of his apprentice. He never really liked the warrior in the first place but who could blame him? Anyone who did would have a serious problem with them. He glared towards Sunheart and went to stand next to Icepaw.

WhirlFlash look surprised. She had thought SunHeart would pick another cat, but apparently he had picked her. She stood and dipped her head to SunHeart. "Thank you SunHeart, I will be proud to be the deputy of this clan and even prouder to have you as a leader."
