Mika grazed by herself on a knoll in the large pasture. She could see the other horses scattered around grazing too. Her tail flicked over her sides, whisking the flies off her hide momentarily. The sun was high in the sky and it was hot on the horses' summery short coats. Her eyes were half closed but her ears constantly flickered around, noting where all of the horses were and catching other sounds.
