The young mare had been traveling for a few days now. Her body was telling her to stop, but her heart told her no. The determined dove wasn't going to stop till she found what she was looking for. A home. A family. Some one that would take her in for who she was. Her large muscular pillar dragged on as her carcass was getting heavy, her large cranium and maw hanging low, almost touching the ground. The dove was so tired and dehydrated. She was wobbly on her pillars and couldn’t stand still for the fear of falling and not being able to get up. Her audits were still alert, but very little. They were flicking back and forth. The once beautiful and strong mare, was now an rag doll, the fur that covered her carcass was filthy clumps of mud and slowly flaking mud. As exhausted as she was, her pillar began to break to the ground, and with a loud thud she was down. Her cranium hit hard, as well as everything else. The lids the covered her beautiful and wondrous pools, kept fluttering open and closed. The mare thought that it was the end of her journey. She had no more power to move, she was a goner. Suddenly though, a small sound of trickling water made it to her well trained audits, with in the silence of the forest. She wanted to get up, she just had too. She urged her long agile pillars up. Slowly they began to gather from beneath her cage. and then lifted upwards towards the sky, her neck stretched out helping her keep her balance. The second she was up, the mare started forward. Every step hurt. With every move she made, the toned muscles beneath her coat strained to stay up. She felt pain with every second. The mare kept towards the sound where she thought the water was. The closer she got the more convinced she was that there was water and not just her mind playing tricks on herself. Her large pools, opened wide, were carefully scanning the area. Her nostrils were flaring. She was looking for a bright glisten to come to her pools. And then she saw it. The time that she thought was the end of her, was only just the beginning. She thrusted herself forwards. Gradually and slowly, she began to pick up the pace of her gloomy pace. Once she had gotten to the waters she let out a loud and heavy sigh that filled the silent space around her. The mare's poles slowly dropped to the ground to get to the water. Her maw touched the water and she sucked it up as fast as she could, but it wasn't fast enough. The lovely dove paused for a moment and turned her cranium towards her clumped up carcass. It was so dirty and full of mud. She stepped into the water and when her body hit it quickly felt better. The cold and refreshing water poured over her body, working out the kinks in the dirt piles and also the strained muscles. She began to drink again but slower. The mare was refreshed and she began to walk out of the water towards a place where she didn't know. Her nostrils, still flaring picked up a new smell. A scent that she hadn't smelt in a long time. Horses. She began to pick up the pace again towards the horses. Soon she saw an opening with in the forest, Light broke through and hurt her eyes. She wasn't used to it because she had been traveling in the forest for so long. The trees were so densely packed, that light barely made it through the green and leafy canopy. Once she broke through the trees, she saw many horses. She let out a loud whinny from the deepest depths of her weak cage towards all of the horses. Just to make sure that everyone knew of her presence.
