Kay finished his food off quickly. He lapped at the river water, and looked down at the stones and crystals. "Ooh... I've never seen shinies like these before." He gathered a few, and stashed them in the fold at the base of his wing.

She nodded. "I better be going." SHe flew off to her home without saying good-bye

He watched with wide, confused eyes. He wondered if he could find his way home...

She darted into the water, and into a hole. It went up, and then came to a flat, dry surface that was still underground.

Kay flew out over the ocean, careful not to drop his keep-sakes. He wanted to remember this trip. He watched the endless expanse of water pass beneath him, until he caught scent of home. He managed to catch an octopus on the way, as well as a talon full of seaweed. He stashed them in his cave pond. The freezing cold water splashed his snout.

She rustled around.

Kay stretched out, the late morning sun catching the water droplets on his scales. He pulled out his prey from the previous night, and made a fire for cooking.

The pring air began to rise. She began to make a den for her younglings. It was habit. But then, she stopped. She wouldnt have any younglings this year.
