Duncan

Tall grasses swayed, breathing in the new air of Spring. The season of life, and unfortunately, death. Green eyes gazed out from behind the blades. The wolves of the pack were old, and new children were not being born into their place. Only a matter of time before the entire pack died out. Oh, what a terror, time. Never enough, too quick to grasp onto. It was gone before you could even settle your eyes onto it. The lumbering male sneered softly, rising his head from his paws. Probably for the best, he had never been particularly fond of children.

I can see Ash doing her in, he has so much hatred building up inside, ready to blow. Ok, back to rp.))

Ash walked out of his den, yawning. He could feel the sun's heat warm his face. What color was the sun? What color was the grass in the spring? What color were his eyes? He would never know, he would only see blackness. For the rest of his life, he would never see the sky. He walked over to the stream than ran on one side of camp and dipped his chin into the cool winter water that had not warmed up with the coming spring. He listened around camp, hearing the mumble of the wolves talking. He could smell the pheromones in the air. The females would be in heat and puppies would come in a month or two. Then all the illnesses that would come in his den would disgust him. Puppies were so prone to sickness.

(Yeah, Ash was my first thought on who would take Bane out. Wasn't sure if you wanted to do it though. All I know though, I defiantly wasn't Bane go go out by someone killing her rather than old age. More room for character development that way.)

She pulled back and circled around a clearing, keeping the breeze in her favor, gazing into the mass of turkey meat for imperfections. Did they know, she wondered, that she could hear their heartbeats? Did they know that she outpaced theirs by tenfold? Not for long though. Soon their hearts would threaten to burst with horror.

Rylen whipped around pin-pointing one of the large birds. The chase was on. The fox colored girl lunged forward off of the hill, swooping down into the clearing and racing towards her prize. Within moments of her leaving the hill, the birds became aware of their fate, and fled in every which direction, avoiding pointed teeth that snapped at outstretched wings and feathers, leering the younger ones away from her. They were too small, she was looking for a larger one that escaped her vision during the confusion. Swivelling around she found the nearest plump one.

Crack

She pinned her ears. Oh how she hated the noise, but it was, after all, survival of the fittest. The she-wolf lifted herself from a crouched stance, standing at her full height, with the turkey's legs just barely reaching the ground, and headed back towards home with a warm meal between her jaws.

Before reaching camp, Rylen caught the ghostly gray figure of her brother, Ash, near the stream. With a moments notice she changed direction and sat down beside her, nudging him with her nose to make her presence know if he had not already sniffed her and the smell of blood out. "Brother." A muffled voice cooed out to her brother.

Ash smelled the blood of a kill and the musty scent of his sister. "Sister." He sighed. He would never be able to hunt. He would never be successful as anything but a healer. You didn't have to stalk herbs. He didn't have the skills his sister had, and he envied her.

Her ears perked to his response, slightly wagging of her tail, but hesitated when she realized his words seems to hold a pitch of dullness, was he upset? Rylen lowered to place the turkey at his paws, nudging it against his toes so that he knew it was there. "Are you hungry?" She asked, shifting her jaw, as it had become stiff from clamping onto the meal for so long.

She turned away, looking at the stream's reflective surface, remembering how close she and Ash had been as pups. Bonding because they were their parents rejects. What could one do? Ash was blind and Rylen was... jumpy. The girl shrugged it off, leaning forward to frothy surface of the water, dragging a tongue across the cold edge, lapping up water.

Ash felt the warm feathers at his paws. He broke the going open and ate from the even warmer breast meat of the bird. After satisfying himself, he offered it back to her, licking her cheek tenderly in thanks. "Your such a good hunter. I wish I could go with you. But I would just scare off your prey." He smiled at first, but it slowly faded from his face. He would never be able to do what Rylen does, or see the things she's seen. As curious as her brother was, he ventured into the topic of her love life. "So, have you any potential mates in mind?"

The female blinked looking at Ash to watch him rip open the bird to feast, and was pleased to see he was eating. Sitting upright, she lapped away a few stray droplets of cold water from her muzzle, not speaking, enjoying the trickle of the stream and the soft chirps of birds. Nature was such a beautiful thing, shame he couldn't share her sight. She frowned slightly, looking at her brother, her cheek meeting his thanks. "Maybe you could learn to hunt. Maybe you could see with something other than your eyes. Like your feet. Feel the vibrations that every living thing gives off and focus on it." Rylen tilted her head away from him, glancing at the glistening surface. Light struck the water, breaking up into little gold beads that flickered with the movement of the liquid.

"No, I don't fancy anyone. No one in the pack seems to have much of a love life anyone. It's not as lively as it was when we were young. " She said, absentmindedly. "What about you, brother. Having you taken a liking to anyone? Spring is in the air. Maybe our numbers will grow strong again..." She shrugged. She didn't mind either way. More pups meant more mouths to feed.

"I don't know, I woundn't be able to see the terrain. I really haven't left the camp except on the paths cleared for me to my herb patches." He looked at his paws. "No, who would like someone like me, I can't do anything."

Dustin walked back to camp with April at his side, slightly brushing against him. He smiled walking in with his head held high. "Fawn." He called to the aged alpha. His sister looked startled by the sight of April, and hurried over as fast as her aching hip could move.

"April! How nice it is to see you!" Fawn smiled.

April smiled a bit and nodded, "And to you as well.." she said quietly before looking around pack.
