Sokor heard Storm whiper to him and silently acknowledged her words. He lay stone still, even though he couldn't move at all and waited for the "Thing" to pass by. He just hoped the others would be okay.

(Just curious, what is the "Thing"? Because it could be a bear or a lion, or anything really! I would just like to know)

Storm gasped, even though she tried her hardest not to make any sound. There was something hot and awful on the back of her neck. Her fur stood on end. It was breathing on her neck. She froze, and her breath caught in her throat. She chocked for a second, annoyed that she had made another noise. She was deathly afraid. I shouldn't be afraid. I needn't be afraid. Why am i afraid! she thought. The she realised why she was scared. Well, if it had taken down Sokor, and there is a bunch of bones over there, then it must be capable of amazing things. she thought.

Sokor felt Storm stir beside him and felt the essence of the "Thing" surrounding them. He couldn't see, he knew his eys were open but they were glazed over, blocking his view of anything familiar. He frantically tried to fight off his sleepiness and felt something cold run over his neck. He froze and waited.

Storm had a feeling that she was doomed, but she had not given up all hope, not yet anyway. She had guessed that this 'thing' new she was only playing possum. Normally not my style. She thought with a silent chuckle. Well, we can't just wait for it to go away.................... She hoped it would go away; even if it was briefly, so that she could hopefully warn the others to run and come back, maybe with another, to move Sokor.

Sokor heard the "Thing" snort and waited in doom. Somehow, he knew this "Thing" was much bigger and way more powerful than any wolf could ever be. He scented Storm's fear and realized how scared he was too.

Storm sighed. She didn't want to have to die like this, in such a pitiful way. She also didn't want to have the others doomed to the same fate. She had a feeling she couldn't outrun the "thing" but hoped she could distract it so that the others could escape. I always thought that saving the life of the pack would be a good way to die. She thought. But if i did that, how would Sokor escape? Hmmmmmmmm She stood up, fear almost forcing her back down, and looked the creature straight in the eye. It was big, with giant bat like wings, and claws like sharpened tree trunks; they were white as bone. It had long bone white teeth, and its neck was the size of Storms leg, with a tail that had spikes on it. It also had spikes on its back, and it had scales all over its body. It was black as night, and its eyes gleamed a dark crimson. Storm gasped, it was terrifying. She was screwed. She was doomed.

Sokor stirred and felt a strong force beside him. Something was attracting his strength, making him weaker by the second. At least he could move again. He fluttered open one eyelid and saw Storm facing the most enormous creature he had ever seen. The creature must be sucking away his energy and using it for itself! he thought. He struggled to his feet and stood close to Storm. "If you want her, take me first." he said, standing to hide her behind him.

Storm knew that Sokor was hurt. He won't last a minute! She thought Then again..... will i? She moved around Sokor, so that she was standing next to him, and in his ear whispered "We stand a better chance if we fight together." and then in her head added Not that we stand much of a chance.
