Nighttail sighed, "Maybe your pelt will change as you grow. Maybe you'll have to cover it with dirt. Only time can tell." She paused and looked at her pupils coat. "I wouldn't worry." Her voice was calm and supporting.

mistypaw nodded,"maybe it will.... maybe it will get dark like rockpaws." she said curiously. she didn't want to be slate grey...

Nighttail nodded and chuckled softly. She nudged her shoulder against Mistypaw's with a smile, "You worry too much. Just relax." She said before quickening her stride. The prey was close. "Would you like to get it?" She asked amiably.

Mistypaw smiled and bounded after her"Oh yes!" she whispered, trying to be quiet.

Rockpaw watched from a tree, following them silently.

Nighttail nodded, her tail flicking impatiently. "He's in the bush. Crouch low, don't make too much sound, and be sure to be quick when you leap." She whispered to Mistypaw, a warm smile on her lips. She buckled down and began inching towards the scent's source.

mistypaw nodded, inching closer to the bush, taking light steps she pounced into the underbrush, paws falling squarly on the shrew. she bit it's neck snapping it quickly before bounding out of the bush with it between her jaws,"i aot ith!"

Nighttail grinned, almost jumping up and down out of joy. "Good job!" She praised in a warm voice. She looked up at Rockpaw, "Come on down." She called up to him. she turned back to Mistypaw. "Let's get you and your kill back to camp." She said.

Rockpaw purred as he jumped down next to her,"Nice catch." he nudged her along.
Mistypaw almost squiled,"Awrighth! rocthpaws stop ith!"

Nighttail chuckled and sort of...pranced...back into camp, happy that her pupil had caught her first kill. She felt like meowing a lullaby, but refrained from doing so, knowing how horrible it would sound.

Mistypaw bounded after her, her chest filled with joy, her mentor looked so happy! she better catch more shews.... she must like shrews,"rainthtal?"
