(Another long post-sorry!)
Shadowstorm had overheard the conversation between wolf and pony. Now he was worried about the black filly. Although she was a skilled fighter, he did not understand why anyone would go into the dragon's den. Forgetting himself for a moment, he raced from his hiding spot straight to Wolfheart.
"D-don't go, Wolfheart!" he begged. "If the dragon is awake, he'll eat you!"
"Calm yourself, Colt." she murmured. "I saved you from a dragon, remember?"
"HOLD!" snarled the Games Master. "Who is this pony?"
Wolfheart turned fearlessly to the great wolf. "He is a colt I rescued from a Dark Dragon. And i believe he considers me an older sister, although we share no kin."
"Why is he at the games?"
Shadowstorm buried his face in Wolfheart's mane. "I-I followed her..." he stammered. "I-I was worried.."
"This is a grave crime, Colt. You entered Pack territory. At the games no less! This calls for severe punishment."
She heard the rival wolves, not of her Pack, chanting for the frightened colt to be released to them, and probably eaten.
"HOLD!" snapped Wolfheart. "How, exactly, would this pony know that the Games were now? And how, exactly would he know he was in Pack territory? True, he trespassed, but he did not know he was trespassing. Perhaps you could let this colt off with a warning and let him watch the Games?"
"Bold words, Filly. VERY bold. But I admire thy courage and thy words are wise." Turning to Shadowstorm, he growled, "Colt, if you return here, do you swear to have either a Pack-Born escort, such as Wolfheart, or permission from the Packs?"
"Y-yes..."
Then you may watch the Games but do not come back here without Wolfheart with you, understood?"
"Y-yes..."
"Good. Go find a spot off the field where you can see. But DON'T follow Wolfheart til the Games are finished, do you understand?"
"I-I do..."
He curled up under a tree, hoping the black filly would stay safe, and waited for the event to begin.
