She turned her head to him. "I really, really wish I could believe that, Blackstorm.....I-I really do....But that was what you said, soon before you took Cloverblaze as your mate...."Her voice came in a sad, quiet wail. She couldn't hold onto her calm, quiet self for much longer. She just wished Blackstorm would be like he used to be, loving, ever so loyal, and comforting when she was sad. Like she had tried to be with him.

Blackstorm touched his tail tip to her shoulder. "I fell in love with her at first sight." He confessed. "I was... blind, I guess." He mewed, his pale blue eyes swimming with memories. "It was as if nothing in the world mattered but her. Its all different now." He said, bowing his head, as if mourning for old times.

Tawnystar sighed. "It was just like that....you stopped talking to me. I thought maybe I'd done something wrong.....and when I became Fawnstar's deputy, and found out you were mates with Cloverblaze, I wa torn. I felt like I was in a battle against StarClan. Against falling apart. Do you know how close I was? How close to ending up like an elder, nest-ridden? That broke me...and I still love you....but this time....is your love real?"

"Its always been real!" Blackstorm insisted, sounding like pleading for belief. "I know how much I hurt you, and I was completely wrong..." He trailed off, eyes shining with regret.

She curled her tail around his again, burying her muzzle deep in his fur. "Okay...I...I'll believe you again...I love you...."She leaned against him, giving a last soft murmer. "I always hoped this would come....A day you'd finally love me....for real...I thought it was impossible."She looked up at him, relief flooding through her.

"Oh please, everybody knew it would happen eventually." Blackstorm chuckled softly.

She smiled. "Yeah, but after you took Cloverblaze as your mate, even to dream of it seemed impossible."She purred quietly.

Blackstorm paused, guilt rushing through him like a river after a downpour of rain. "Do you know if she... had her kits yet?" He asked.

She stiffened, but her reply was calm. "She did. And so far, we've heard nothing from them saying they're actuallly giving us the kits yet."She fell silent, thinking he'd go back to her all over again.

The word Blackstorm felt was conflicted. He had always thought him and Cloverblaze were meant to be, but now with Tawnystar back in his life, it felt.... different. "Maybe you should go over there and check." He said.
