Nightpaw, who had been content taking a nap in the sun, looked up as he heard the sound of feet across the camp. He drowsily lifted his head, looking around for the disturbance, and caught sight of Cloudpaw, running towards Ivystar. She seemed in a dead state of panic, and her eyes were wide, as if she had just witnessed a murder. Silently Nightpaw heaved himself to his feet, and padded over to them, aware that no one had invited him to join in on the conversation. He disregarded this however, and sat down a few mouse-lengths away from the two she-cats, eavesdropping as he groomed his paw.

When Cloudpaw told the leader of the death, he stopped in mid-lick, dead shocked. Brackenthorn... dead? A dog had killed him, said Cloudpaw. Nightpaw silently bent his head, not wanting to meet either of their gaze. Blackpaw and Featherpaw, Brackenthorn's kits, would be devastated. He wished he could go find them - help someway, somehow. But he knew that going to them would only be a disregard to their honor; a fallen warrior was carried into camp by their family, or close friends. Nightpaw barely knew him, even if he knew the two apprentices well. He would try and comfort them when they returned. Silently he sat down, his amber eyes set on the entrance of camp, waiting for them to come in.

She-cat::Medicine cat::In camp::Sedgepaw

Lilymist nodded. "that's okay, if you remember later, let me know" she meowed, turning her sightless eyes back to the herb store.. "Okay so, firstly we must go find some borage, and then the elders' have been complaining of ticks, and if there are no injured cats I may be of help with that" she meowed thinking about speaking with her former mentor. She pulled out the shriveled and cracked borage leaves. She pused them over to the corner of old, useless remedys.

Tom::Warrior::In camp::Smokepaw

Brackenclaw looked up to the trees, also noticing the small animal, but that lesson was for another day. He headed over to the sharp rocks. The huge jagged boulders broke off into a stream, that turned into a raging river in leaf-fall. Hopefully they would be able to catch some fish and water voles. Soon they had arrived. He signaled his apprentice to stay in the bushes with him and let the prey come to them.

Mossfur stood and walked to Mintpaw, "today, we are going to have a compation to see who can catch the most prey, you or Frozenpaw." she meowed. "I have good hopes for you, the winner has no elder duties tomorrow and first pick from fresh-kill pile." she meowed. She flicked her apprentice's shoulder and walked to back to Oakleaf.

Sagepaw nodded to Ivystar and went over to the camp entrance to wait. He sat patiently there as Ivystar went to his sister to tell her the news. He knew she would love the chance to train with the leader, and in all fair, he was a bit excited too. He groomed his tail, although he knew it would soon pick up dust. He hoped to do some fighting today.

Rainpaw looked at Ivystar, a twinkle in her eyes "sounds good" she meowed barely containing her excitment. She raced over to the camp entrance to see Sagepaw. She noticed he was also a bit more excited. She could not wait to show Ivystar her newly learned skills. She waved her tail then sat.

Oakleaf nodded her head before she looked at Frozenpaw, watching him run off to share a meal with Mistypaw. "alright," She mewed to the apprentice, Her pale olive eyes trailing to Fernsong when she noticed the she-cat limp in. "What happened to her?" She said with worry as she stood up. watching as she called he two apprentices, Blackpaw and Featherpaw. Oakleafs eyes trailed to her wounds, Worry was clear in her gaze

Mintpaw nodded to her mentors words. "alright" She mewed before she watched Fernsong limp in. She felt her eyes widen before she looked at Littlepaw as she emerged from the apprentices den. "Morning" She mewed softly as she looked at the she-cat. Her eyes looking carefully at her pelt. "You missed a spot" she mewed before grooming Littlepaw's pelt. making sure not to miss any spots.

Sunstripe watched as Mistypaw pulled out a squirrel to eat with her brother. He yawned and looked at Fernsong as she walked in. He looked at Oakleaf and repeated what she mewed. "What happened to her?" he mewed before he tilted his head at why she called the two apprentices. His fur was bristling slightly, however he kept a low growl silent in his throat.

Sandstripe tilted his head when Blackpaw went to Fernsong at her call. He waited paitently for his apprentice to return to him. However he was paying a little too much attention to Fernsong's wounds. "Those are harsh wounds" he murmured flicking his pale tail.

Littlepaw purred softly and she blinked her oddly coloured eyes. "Thanks Mintpaw." The young white she-cat meowed, then she looked towards the entrance of camp as Fernsong came in. The she-cats eyes widened when she saw her older sisters wounds, they were deep and bleeding. "What in StarClan's name happened to Fernsong?" She wondered. She was worried, but she wouldn't go over to Fernsong and ask, as she had called Featherpaw and Blackpaw over to her.

The tom followed after his mentor eagerly, flickering his tail as he did so, his brown and black tabby pelt flashing as sunlight slanted through the tree tops. The tom blinked his eyes and stayed back in the bushes with his mentor as they waited for the prey. The tom tasted the air for any scent of prey, but he couldn't catch any yet. He glanced towards his mentor and flickered his tail. "How long do we have to wait?"


The black cat flickered her tail before she watched Cloudpaw sulk towards the apprentices den, and the black she-cat sighed and shook her head. She blinked her icy blue eyes and looked at Nightpaw before getting to her paws and she flickered her tail. "We should go and train, Nightpaw. Rainpaw and Sagepaw are waiting for us." She told the tom and she flickered her ear, knowing he had been evesdropping, but she wouldn't mention it. The black leader shook her pelt and sighed before she padded towards the entrance of camp and flickered her tail to Rainpaw and Sagepaw. Then she stood and waited for Nightpaw to follow.

"Your welcome" Mintpaw mewed as she shook her head, leaning back to scratch behind her ears. "So, How have you been doing?" she asked, tail flicking slightly before she stretched. "Hungry?" She asked before standing. "I'll go grab you a piece of fresh kill" She mewed, her ears flicking away a bug as it flew past her. Mintpaws green eyes were clear instead of the dull color they had been the other day when a cat had brought up her mother, in which her father had sulked along side her.

Littlepaw nodded at Mintpaw. "I've been doing fine." She meowed, and as Mintpaw asked her if she was hungry she was. "Yeah I'm hungry a bit." She meowed, and she watched Mintpaw go to the fresh kill pile and she waited, wrapping her tail around her paws. The white she-cat twitched and ear and she glanced around camp before the half-death she-cat blinked her multicolored eyes.

The she-cat picked up a thrush and carried it back over to Littlepaw. "here you go" she mewed setting it down infront of the apprentice, her green eyes normal as she looked at the thorn tunnel, watching as Ivystar led the other three apprentices out of camp. The apprentice curled her tail around her paws and sat back in the shade. Letting her pelt cool.
