Streampebble narrowed his eyes, already not liking this tom. He couldn't gather enough courage to speak though, so he let Ambertail do the talking.

Emberflame yawned, entering camp in time to see the ceremony.

Rusty stared at the cat in alarm. "You do?" this intrested him. "Why? Won't you feel... Lonely?"

pepplestream closed her eyes and spoke softly to the loner, knowing this was supposed to be a kittypet. "whats your name?" she asked. "we are clan. we are family. we can talk to each other, we can understand each other. we cant talk to twolegs, and who wants to eat dried rabbit droppings?" when pepplestream felt the kittypet stiffen, she added more softly, "why dont you stay with your own kind? one day, your twolegs will abandon you. clan life will never do that." she stopped, out of breath. she let her words hang in the air, waiting for reaction. had she said to much?
