A bird hoped out. Starlingpaw sighed. Why was a shadow looming over him, just because of a little bird? Confused, he neatly pounced on it and killed it with a swift bite instead of letting it go. He didn't want to kill if right now, since it might have been an omen. But really, could it be a prophecy or something? Just because of a little bird? He didn't know. Shaking his head, he carried back to bird to the fresh-kill pile.

"Well, you're back soon." Wrenpaw said when she saw that her brother had returned with a bird. "Where'd you catch that?" She asked, it was always a good idea to know where the prey was easy enough to catch that the untrained medicine cat apprentice could do it. Something looked slightly different about her brother's eyes now, though it had taken her a moment to notice it. "Is something wrong?" She asked, her voice showing concern.

Cloudkit was sitting in the nursery, her tail wrapped around her paws. As usual, she wore a frown. She was cooped up in here while her mother and Applekit and Daisykit slept. It wasn't fair, she wanted to see what was going on outside. The entire Clan was bustling except for her. She felt like a useless kit. Of course she was a kit, but she didn't like feeling like a useless one. She sighed and glanced back at her family. They were fast asleep. I could sneak out, she thought and she immediately had done just that. In a matter of seconds, she had squeezed out of a tiny hole in the nursery and into the woods.

Starlingpaw thought for a moment, blinking, but then shook his head. "No, it's nothing." He sighed. He actually didn't want to lie in front of his sister, who cared so much for him. Nobody was like that. But he didn't feel like telling. It was probably an omen from StarClan. He took the bird back to his den and gazed at it carefully, trying to seek what was it. The fur of it was ruffled, parted in 2 sides neatly. What was wrong with this? He didn't know what this meant. As a medicine cat apprentice, he should know. He was ashamed of this, but he decided to put the bird back. He would think later.

Sablefur stayed a couple of tail-lengths behind Robinstar, completely alert. Every muscle in her body was tense, although she tried to hide it with her excitement for Goldenpaw. She sighed inwardly, knowing the only reason she didn't want to go to the border was because of some silly dream that wouldn't have scared a kit. Besides, Sunclan warriors weren't terrible, vicious wildcats, they were civilized. Eveningstar would never let her warriors attack meaninglessly like that. She wouldn't let them cause unnecessary wars. Would she?

Goldenpaw walked beside Sablefur, barely able to keep herself from pelting ahead of the group. She glanced over at Sablefur, and noticed she was tense. And nervousness was nearly coming off her in waves. "What's wrong?" she asked her mentor, looking at her with concern. She hadn't ever seen Sablefur so worked up, especially when she was with Robinstar. She waited for a while, then realized she wasn't going to get an answer. Twitching her ears frustratedly, she bounded ahead, falling into step beside Robinstar.

Robinstar

Robinstar noticed that Goldenpaw seemed to have calmed down a bit from earlier, which was good. They were almost to the border, so he slowed their pace, until they were all stopped. "Alright, let's get to work hunting. There should be plenty of squirrels and mice around, and voles if you head closer to the border." He said, telling of all the prey he smelt, as well as that which he simply knew was there. He watched as Stringfur nodded, and headed closer to the border, obviously deciding that the voles were the best way for him to go.

Cloudkit stalked out into the forest, almost silent which even surprised her self. In the distance she could hear voices. "Alright, let's get to work hunting," she heard her leader saying. How cool would it be if she could spy on the leader? Immediately, she followed the sound of Robinstar's voice, and hid behind a bush with a perfect view of her and the rest of the group.
