Morningstar
Morningstar looked at Cloudpaw when she asked why she was up so early. "No particular reason, I just woke up." She said, not wanting to bother an apprentice with something like floods this early in the morning. Eventually the whole clan would need to know that they planned on asking for the high ground back, but for now that wasn't an issue. "Three. Two. One." She whispered as the sun peeked over the horizon, causing every drop of water around the camp to sparkle. It was one of her favorite things to see in the morning, everything in camp reflecting the light like that. It only lasted a minute or two though, because then the sun rose high enough to be behind the tree, throwing the whole camp into shadows again.

Cloudpaw watched as the sunrise lit up camp. It almost looked like the sun itself had rained down. "That's so pretty," she meowed in awe. Everything glittered for a few moments, then everything returned to normal. As if the most spectacular sight had never happened. "Is that why you get up early?" she asked. "That's beautiful." She continued to watch the sun rise, hoping it would once again show it's beauty.

"I wouldn't say it's why I get up early, but it's certainly why I don't mind getting up early." She said with a smile to Cloudpaw. "Don't bother waiting for another one, the next one is tomorrow morning." Morningstar said, standing and stretching. She padded over to the freshkill pile and grabbed a middle sized fish, then returned. "Care to share? It's a bit large for just me." She offered.

Cloudpaw nodded, "Thank you." She took a small bite, swallowing it thoughtfully. She looked around, wondering if anyone else was up, then asked, "Why does everyone act weird around me?" She looked down at her paws, figuring she would probably deny that anyone treated her differently. "Don't say that they don't," she added. "Birchpaw always is so protective and the other cats...they just stare at me. And make fun of me. Why? Is it something to do with when I was sick? What did I do?" She hadn't meant it all to come out like that, but once she started she couldn't stop. "Did I do something wrong?"

"I don't know why they wierd around you. Do you do anything differently around them?" Morningstar suggested to the younger cat. She knew that Birchpaw was protective over her sister because of her sister's illness, but she was pretty sure that the rest of the clan just thought of the she-cat as another apprentice. "As far as I remember, you did nothing wrong when you were sick as a kit, though you did stop eating for a few days. Your sister cares about you, that is why she is so protective of you."

Smallpaw lay awake in bed, but stayed still and kept his breathing shallow. The moss in his bed jumped around a bit with each breath he took and each time he wanted to laugh, but he didn't. He couldn't. His eyelids were droopy and he would like nothing more than to close his eyes to the world and be engulfed in the blackness of sleep. But there was no blackness for him, just pain and memories that refused to stay away. That's why he never slept, why he lay awake night after night, listening to the calm breathing of his den mates. How innocent they were of the horrors of life.

((Right now, just Nightclan. But if you wanted to make one for one of the others, I'm sure we could find a way to work it in later on after these individual plots are worked through a bit more. I'll do a real reply in the morning, it's late here and I must sleep.))

Beechpaw

Beechpaw woke up as sunlight shone into the den through the entrance right over him. He sat and licked his pelt clean of any bits of clinging moss, then stood stretched and went outside. That was when he remembered. It was finally here, moving day! He couldn't wait to finally get to sleep in the full darkness that the holes that made the summer dens would allow. It would be great. He remembered when they had moved here just before Leafbare, and how it had taken him days to adjust to the way sunlight filtered through the thick tangles of grass and brambles that made up the dens here. He had only been a kit at the time, though he was old enough to have remembered it well.
