Wildfire and Icebelly carefully carried Froststar's limp body into the center of the clearing. Finally Icebelly talked. "Mudfur, you need to step up as the new leader. I'll travel with you to get your nine lives and then you have to make a new deputy, Mudstar." At that he bowed his head.

Wildfire was full of sadness. She smoothed out Froststar's fur.

Thornear crouched by Froststar he pushed his nose into her death smelling fur.

Peachpaw copied Thornear.

Swiftpaw dashed over to Froststar's body and pushed his nose into her fur. He vowed to stay there forever if he could.

Maplebriar stood back, he wasn't that close to Froststar, so he allowed those closer to her to have the mourning spots. Maplebriar sat down and looked up to the sky, Why, Starclan?
