Snakefang heard Dustleap's yowlings and ran into his den to grab a bundle of herbs before running into the nursery. "Hello Swallowpelt," he said, setting the herbs down. "How're you doing?"

"All right," Swallowpelt replied. She grunted. "But they're coming."

Swallowpelt nodded and ate them quickly, making a face at the bitter taste. She flopped her head back down, her breathing shallow.

"Now all we can do is wait," Snakefang said, sitting back on his haunches and watching the queen carefully.

Swallowpelt winced. "They're really coming now!" she meowed urgently.
