"Yewstar's old nest." she meowed her eyes staring unfocused at her paws.

Scorchedpaw saw the sad look on his new friend's face and stood next to her, he gently rested his sooty black tail across her shoulders, trying to comfort her.

Flopwhisker swivelled his ears towards the direction of Cricketsong's voice and sprang towards it. Unfortunately, he miscalculated her distance in the darkness and ended up pouncing on her tail.

Thornflight glanced over at Hareflight. He liked the she-cat, but was unsure of how she'd take it if he told her. She probably doesn't like me anyway, he thought ruefully, turning back to the water to check for fish.

Cricketstar mrowed with laughter and blindly swiped the air intending to cuff Flopwhisker's ears. She missed and the her paw made a whistling sound in the air, she turned around and raced towards the open air "Come on Flopwhisker!" she called as she saw the light ahead.

Hareflight swam up from behind the tom and tried to surprise him with a splash to his face. She knew she should probably be looking for prey but the prospect of playing around was too much fun. She smiled cheekily, her golden tabby fur bristling with excitement. She had a crush on the tom but she doubted he liked her back.

Frostpaw looked up at him and shook her fur out roughly. 'Stop acting like a kit.' she spat thinking to herself. She smiled up at Scorchedpaw reassuring him that she was okay. "At least we don't have to refill it. Just get the old stuff out." She meowed walking into the elders den.

Flopwhisker followed Cricketsong out of the tunnel, glad to finally be able to see. Once outside, he glanced sideways at his friend, studying her. She didn't seem any different now that she'd spoken with StarClan. He really wanted to know what had happened with their ancestors, but he knew they weren't supposed to talk about it, so he bit his tongue. "So, back to camp?"

Thornflight sensed Hareflight behind him and whirled around before she could do anything, splashing the water with his paw so it soaked the she-cat.

Scorchedpaw followed confused at the she-cats mixed emotions. He nodded and began to pull the old moss out from the now-empty elder's den.

Hareflight was caught off guard at Thornflight's sudden reaction to her prank. She resurfaced her fur sticking to her face making her look quite historical. After a moment she shook her head briskly so that it puffed up at all angles. She smiled and splashed him straight in the face.

Cricketstar grinned cheekily "Yup!" almost forgetting she was leader, she pounced on the tom's tail "Come on tiger, lets go!"

Thornflight laughed, not expecting Hareflight's counteraction and getting a mouthful of water. Spitting it out, he scowled at her, hiding a grin and splashing her.

Flopwhisker, chuckling, pulled his tail free and shouldered her in a friendly way. "C'mon, lets go before my tail suffers permanent injury."

Cricketstar laughed and nodded, she let him lead the way.

Hareflight tried to duck but ended up with a mouthful of water, she spat it out and ducked under the surface, she swam towards him and tried to knock his legs from under him.

Oakwhisker padded into camp; prey in his jaws. He shook out his dark tabby pelt and placed the prey onto the fresh kill pile. The tom looked around and spotted a small gathering of cats around a golden-brown body. A feeling of dread filled his chest as he cautiosly made his way over.

Flopwhisker began walking, pausing for a moment to see if Cricketstar was coming. Assured that she was, he continued in silence.

Thornflight watched Hareflight's head disappear under water. The next moment, he was under too. Realizing that Hareflight must have kicked out his legs, he closed his eyes and allowed himself to sink.

Frostpaw helped him roll up the old bedding. "We don't even need to put new stuff in." She meowed only half focused on what her paws were doing. She helped him haul out the old stuff and throw it into the dirt pile. "I'm going to grab a mouse." she said trying not to look at the cats huddled around Yewstar's body.
